I loved Elle Casey’s  “Shine not Burn” series, so I figured I would give this new series a try and hope it would be just as great…Even though I enjoyed reading this one, it was very different from her other series…This book is about a group of women of around the same age (24/25), being raised by their (different) mothers, on a communal honey farm. They are very self-sufficient, and therefore also very sheltered.

~Synopsis~

She’s going to testify against the teenage boy she saw viciously assault a lone shifter female—and no amount of pressure from the boy’s wealthy family will make her back down. But when the harassment turns violent, help comes in the form of a lean, toned wolf with winter-gray eyes.
As a guest at Gwen’s inn, shifter enforcer Zander Devlin can’t help but notice that the fierce and leggy brunette is in serious trouble. Since she’s putting herself at risk for one of his kind, keeping her safe is the least he can do. That’s not the only reason Zander wants her close. He desires her, even as the wolf inside him backs away from her. But his feral instincts are hard to keep down, and as they take shape, they’re harder for Gwen to resist. My relationship with this author is a simple, yet perfect one. She writes it…and I read it. 😉

I have read every book in the “Deep in your Veins” series, the “Dark In You” series, the  “Phoenix Pack” series and of course the “The Mercury Pack” series. To say that I am a big fan of Suzanne Wright, would be an understatement.

So when I saw this baby on NetGalley, I jumped on it. 😛

Now all these books center around a different couple, so technically they could be read as a stand-alone. I would advise everyone to read this series, and the Phoenix Pack series, in order though…I am so glad I did because I really enjoyed it. Now I have to be honest here and say that I was hoping for Trick or Dominic’s story to be next, but I found out they are next in line. 😉

Doesn’t really matter anyway because all these Alpha boys are fine!!!

~Synopsis~

A hot and hilarious standalone romance from New York Times bestselling author Samantha Towle…

It wasn’t supposed to be like this. I wasn’t supposed to be boyfriendless, homeless, and jobless at twenty-eight. And I most definitely wasn’t supposed to hit Hollywood’s resident bad boy Gabriel Evans with my car and break his foot.
Now, my guilt and homelessness have me living in his apartment, taking care of him, while he’s incapacitated.
Living with the hottest guy in Hollywood, who I’ve had a crush on forever, doesn’t sound like a chore, right?
Wrong.
Gabriel Evans is a crude, rude asshole who drinks way too much and smokes like a chimney.
The sooner I get a new place to live and when Gabriel’s foot is healed, I’m out of here.
So, why do I keep forgetting to check the classifieds? And why do I keep getting flustered when I see him shirtless?
Breaking Hollywood wasn’t part of the plan. But neither is falling in love with him.
Loved Breaking Hollywood? Check out Samantha’s sexy, laugh-out-loud romance, Wardrobe Malfunction, out now!

I have read several books by this author and I really enjoyed them, especially the “The Storm” series.

So when I read the blurb for this new book, I knew I had to read it. I am so glad I did because this story was very entertaining. It was funny, sweet and very sexy. Just what I needed at the moment.

Apparently, there is a book before this one, that I missed “Wardrobe Malfunction”. Both of the MC’s are introduced in that story.  If you haven’t read it, no worries because this book can be read as a standalone. I have no idea how I missed it myself, but I will go back to read it…that’s for sure. 😉

Ava is having a day from hell. Her boyfriend has recently dumped her, she has just lost her job and got an eviction notice from her apartment, because of her pet (an awesome pygmy goat). To top it all off, she runs over the over the foot of Hollywood’s famous bad boy Gabe Evans.

I am a big fan of this author. I really loved her “Until” series and the “Underground Kings” !! So, of course, I had to give this new book a go. 😉

Even though I did enjoy reading this one…it wasn’t my favorite of her…I found the opening scene of this book pretty confusing. The heroine was running around with her arms wide and her eyes closed and ran into the hero. When he asks her if she is alright afterward she acts all flighty, and for the life of me I couldn’t figure out why, and what was going on.

Thankfully it did get better and things became more clear.

Page Count: 400 pages
Release Date: August 14, 2017
Genre(s): Contemporary Romance, Sport
Reviewer: ~Wendy~
Rating: 4 Stars out of 5

~Synopsis~

Hot in Chicago series author Kate Meader returns with her all new, scorching Chicago Rebels hockey series, featuring her signature “steamy sex scenes, colorful characters, and riveting dialogue” (Romantic Times). Three estranged sisters inherit their late father’s failing hockey franchise and are forced to confront a man’s world, their family’s demons, and the battle-hardened ice warriors skating into their hearts.

Harper Chase has just become the most powerful woman in the NHL after the death of her father Clifford Chase, maverick owner of the Chicago Rebels. But the team is a hot mess—underfunded, overweight, and close to tapping out of the league. Hell-bent on turning the luckless franchise around, Harper won’t let anything stand in her way. Not her gender, not her sisters, and especially not a veteran player with an attitude problem, a chip on his shoulder, and a smoldering gaze designed to melt her ice-compacted defenses.

Veteran center Remy “Jinx” DuPre is on the downside of a career that’s seen him win big sponsorships, fans’ hearts, and more than a few notches on his stick. Only one goal has eluded him: the Stanley Cup. Sure, he’s been labeled as the unluckiest guy in the league, but with his recent streak of good play, he knows this is his year. So why the hell is he being shunted off to a failing hockey franchise run by a ball-buster in heels? And is she seriously expecting him to lead her band of misfit losers to a coveted spot in the playoffs?
He’d have a better chance of leading Harper on a merry skate to his bed…

I have read several of Kate Meader’s books, which I really enjoyed so I figured I would give this new series a try. I am glad to say that I am not disappointed. This could also be because it’s a book about hockey…and sports themed books are a weakness of mine…especially hockey and baseball. 😛

It’s hard to go wrong with HOT hockey players running around with their sticks. 😛
