 ~Synopsis~
I’ve been drowning for a long time. I never thought I’d find someone who knows what that’s like…
Self-proclaimed playboy, Aiden Vale, has it all – good looks, successful career, plenty of cash in the bank and an endless supply of men who know the score… that one night is just that. So the last thing he wants, or needs, is to forge a connection that might mean revealing more of himself than he’s ready to. But when fate intervenes, putting Aiden in the path of someone who threatens to knock down his carefully constructed walls, he’s quick to realize the young man he’s become infatuated with is hiding a painful secret.
I finally have a shot at freedom. I’ll never let anyone take that from me ever again…
Ash Valentine is just looking for a way out, and the last thing he wants or needs is another man controlling every aspect of his life. Desperate for the cash that will help him flee his abusive boyfriend, Ash accepts what is supposed to be a temporary job at a local coffee shop. But nothing prepares him for the gorgeous and enigmatic Aiden Vale, and the small acts of kindness the charming coffee shop regular bestows on him or the new friends he begins to make along the way.

Terrified of once again becoming too reliant on someone else to take care of him, Ash refuses Aiden’s repeated offers of help in any form. But when it becomes clear that there’s something more behind Aiden’s need to save him, Ash begins to wonder if he’s found someone who needs saving just as badly.
I know he wants to save me, but what if he’s the one who needs saving…
As their tentative friendship turns into something more, long buried secrets begin to surface. When Aiden’s need to protect Ash clashes with the younger man’s desire for independence, memories of the one he couldn’t save begin to tear at the fragile cords of Aiden’s soul, and he’s forced to face a truth he’s been hiding from for a long time.
Threatened with losing what they’ve only just found, will Aiden and Ash find a way to accept their pasts or will they let the pain drag them below the surface for good?No cliffhangers and can be read as a stand-alone.

This is the second book in the “Twist of Fate” series, book 1 being “Lost and Found”.

I really enjoyed book 1, so I was very excited about this second installment. I had very mixed feelings about  Aiden in the previous book, and I was curious to see what the authors had in store for him.

The universe is trying to tell Sacha Bolic something. A fire escape collapses under him, he lands in crap, and a killer barely misses his target… all in the same few seconds. That’s on top of a long list of mishaps and job dissatisfaction. Not one to ignore signals when they’re shoved in his face, Sacha retires and uses his savings to buy an old building in Skagit, Washington. Seth Culver avoids entanglements, romantic or otherwise. Who needs them? He’s learned the hard way that people betray you or leave. Still, Seth finds people compelling. He kind of collects them, learning their secrets before letting them go their own way. His commitment to no commitments may have met its match in Sacha. Handsome and hot, Sacha seems to offer a permanence that scares Seth more than anything ever has. Seth will have to decide if he’s going to grab life by the balls or keep watching from the sidelines.
A box of inconsequential belongings hidden for decades in the old building hints at lives imagined but not lived, reminding them both there are no guarantees in love, or this thing called life.

open q The past is behind, learn from it.
The future is ahead, prepare for it.
The present is here, live it. close q

“ #journal #vintage #hallmark movie ”

Sasha Bolic is 39 years old and feels every single year in his bones. After the umpteenth close call on his life while on duty as a US Marshall and a premature midlife crisis of some sorts, he contemplates his life choices and decides that something’s got to give. Big time. And fast.

Sick of being uncomfortable with his sexuality and of living in the closet his whole life, he is tired of hiding his true self any longer and grabs the bull by the horns and retires, in order to find a new home somewhere where he just can be. The one place that immediately comes to his mind is Skagit, WA, the dump where he spent several years on an undercover mission and where he made some sorts of friends during that time. Buying an old building and bringing it back to its former beauty is his new purpose in life, which is easier said than done.

~Synopsis~

Just because Kate ‘Middleton’ McGrath, wants a man to call ‘daddy’ in bed doesn’t mean—
Oh, you stopped reading. Cool.
Kate gets it. Kinks aren’t for everyone. Hell, they’re probably not for Mr. Henderson, her grumpaholic boss. She really shouldn’t have crush on him, but the man is just so goddamn stern. Sure, a lot of that comes down to ‘being her boss,’ but still, it feels like there might be something there.
Tyler Henderson is a golden boy who’s lost his shine. He’s old, his dream career is over, his fiancée’s left him. Now all the former firefighter is to try and bury his troubles in paperwork and hard liquor. He says ‘try’ because he can’t get Middleton out of his head long enough to wallow properly. He’s not going anywhere near the girl. HR issues aside, he’s done with sweetness and things don’t come sweeter than a cupcake-baking engineer who knits her own hats.
A case of mistaken identity causes Kate and Ty’s attraction to give way to blistering sex. They have more in common—and more to lose—than either of them realized. When it comes to unreasonable attraction you can rarely change your mind but can you act your age?

Eve did it again. She’s an exceptional author. She has a unique style and an even unique and awesome imagination.

I’ve read all her books, and all of them are unique, funny, hot, very well written and with an amazing story and subjects. She does a wonderful job. Her characters are the best.

Imagine similară

She became one of my favorite authors. And every time I get a message from her I am so excited. I don’t need to read the blurb, or for her to ask…I just say yes. I know what she is capable of. I don’t have enough words of praise for her and I am very honored that she gives me this chance every time, to read her new book.

Mate, family, pack, home… can Quinn and Kellan have it all?

Quinn grew up feeling out of place in the small town he calls home. Yearning for something he can’t name, he’s always felt different but never known why.
Kellan is part of a nomadic shifter pack. When they set up camp in the woods near Quinn’s town, the humans are unwelcoming and suspicious of the newcomers. The moment Kellan catches sight—and scent—of Quinn, he knows Quinn is special. But for the first time in his life, Kellan can’t trust his instincts. Quinn is human, and Kellan is a wolf shifter, so how can they ever be mates?
Their bond is instant and exhilarating. It breaks Quinn’s heart to know their relationship can only be temporary. Love isn’t enough when pack law forbids shifters to mate with humans. Just like with the previous 3 books, I absolutely fell in love with this 4th book and the characters in it!!

Shane and Nikki were both awesome characters, but they were also extremely HOT. I think this is one of the hottest books by Harper Sloan that I’ve read…which is saying something because they are all flaming!!

Shane is quite the dirty talker. 😛

-You can’t hide the cracks under the spotlight-

Dusk. Leader of The Underdogs. Destined for greatness. Lives in the now.
Abe. AKA Lolly. Iridescent. Unicorn.
All Dusk wants out of life is for his band to become world famous. He also wants to have a lot of fun along the way. And to get his rocks off. When he wants something, he goes for it, consequences be damned.
So when he sees a gorgeous pink-haired guy who is the human equivalent of tattooed cotton candy, he can’t help but have a taste. But it’s when Lolly ends up on their tour bus that Dusk knows their meeting was destiny.
Abe is the kind of guy who goes with the flow. He was hitchhiking anyway, so why not spend the week with a hot piece of rocker beefcake, getting smothered by his sexy long hair? And why not play the part of the supportive cutie while he’s at it? It’s not like he’d be sticking around for long anyway.
All plans hit a wall when photos of Abe and Dusk emerge online, suddenly pushing the band into the spotlight. To take advantage of the sudden popularity, the band offers Abe money for staying.
Which means money for being in a fake relationship with Dusk.
Which isn’t even fake.
Or is it?

Every time I read the blurb of a KA Merikan’s book it talks to me.

I feel attracted to their synopsis like a moth to the light, so I keep adding them to my shelves. But until now, until Manic Pixie Dream Boy I’d never tried this duo before. This time I’ve gone beyond the interesting blurb and to the whole experience and, let me tell you, what an incredible experience this one has been!
My first book by this authors and, for sure, not my last. I’m kinda obsessed now and I guess this is the beginning of a huge fangirling thing so, Helloo Merikans! You have a new fan in me.

Not a creepy one, promise, just a fan with a healthy obsession…or not…

So now, about the book:

This is the story of Dusk and Abe. Two guys who met in a stop on their way to LA.

They crossed paths (swords too, figuratively speaking) and start a new journey together. This is the story of The Underdogs, a rock band that makes my heart sing, and my panties melt. This is the story of their guitar and lead singer-Dusk- who wants to shine in a competitive and difficult world and a shiny man-Abe aka Lolly- who doesn’t belong anywhere and who is always waiting for an upcoming storm.

Manic Pixie Dream Boy starts directly into the action and with the action I mean taking care of the business, doing the dirty, a filthy encounter in a gas station restroom…That action.

I absolutely loved book 1, The Alpha King in this series. I am normally not a big fan of mpreg, but I made an exception for that one since it was so nicely done. 😉

Of course, when I found out that there was gonna be the second book in this series, I jumped on it.

Even though this book is about a different couple than book 1, I would still advise reading the first book before starting this one. This mostly because of the world building that takes place in that one, but also because it’s an awesome book!!

~Synopsis~

This year is all about healing the heart, Scorpio. It’s time to leave negative attitudes and stoic facades at the door and let others see the real, more vulnerable you.
Percy Freedman is not grieving. Absolutely not, take that back at once. No, he’s entirely sure that selling his dead aunt’s home and leaving the neighbors he’s known for years is the sane thing to do. Who in their right mind would keep the house that smells like all the hugs he’ll never have again?
Nobody, that’s who.
Well, except his cul-de-sac neighbors. They all seem to think some paint and new furniture will clean the emotional slate. They all want him to stay.
Even his nemesis, Callaghan Glover.
Especially his nemesis, Callaghan Glover.

Lured into a game of Sherlock Gnomes, Percy finds himself hanging out with his neighbors more than might be considered healthy. Along with juggling new and surprising verbal grenades from Cal, and his burgeoning friendship with Gnomber9, Percy is starting to wonder if selling might have been the grief talking after all . . .
That’s right, Scorpio. With a little patience, heartbreak might be a thing of the past.

“Scorpio Hates Virgo” contains sarcasm, sexual content, a slightly sappy HEA, and an unhealthy obsession with dinosaurs…It can be read as a standalone.

First, let me start by saying that this book can be read as a stand alone. You don’t need to read book 1 to understand the storyline… But take my advice and read book 1 anyway though, because it’s a great book that you don’t want to miss out on!!

This book is about Percy and Callaghan.

Now, for those of you wondering if they are connected in any way to the characters of book 1…yes they are. But it’s a very small connection. Percy neighbors are Theo and Leone’s parents.

~Synopsis~

Rav Miller looked into the terrified, intelligent eyes of the chocolate Labrador on death row, and knew he’d do anything to save him. When the dog, Sammy, escapes and heads to Mad Creek, Rav follows. Mad Creek. The town had become legendary in Rav’s mind after he’d met that bizarre group last year. Rav dismissed his crazy suspicions back then, but when he arrives in Mad Creek, he knows it’s true. Dog shifters exist, and apparently they all live in the California mountains. It’s enough to blow a bad boy’s mind.

Sammy has something in common with Rav—neither one of them trusts people. After Sammy’s abuse as a dog, he particularly dislikes tough-looking men like Rav. But when Sammy gets a chance to work with rescued dogs at the new Mad Creek shelter, his deep compulsion to help others overcomes his fear. Rav and Sammy bond over saving strays. If they can each find the courage to let someone else in, they might find their way to love.

Sheriff Lance Beaufort doesn’t like humans moving into Mad Creek, especially not the tattooed and defiant Rav. When Rav starts a rescue shelter, the town thinks he’s wonderful! But Lance isn’t fooled. He doesn’t buy Rav’s innocent act for one second. How much does Rav know about the quickened? What is his game? And why did he have to show up now, when Lance and the other town leaders are overwhelmed by all the new quickened pouring in?

Rav knows how to save a life. But can he save an entire town? Can he rescue Mad Creek?

I have read and loved every single book in this series and this one was no exception.

I think everyone who loves dogs as much as I do, should give this series a go. These books are sweet and cute and fluffy!!!

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor the cuteness is real + gif

Even though every book is about a different couple, I really think you should start with book 1, How To Howl At The Moon, because of the world building.

This book is about Sammy and Rav.

Those of you who have read the previous book, How To Wish Upon A Star, already know Rav, since he was introduced in in this one.  He runs a dog shelter in Arizona and he goes out of his way to save dogs who are about to be euthanized.

10a039e0cef2b1aa5198d5f12a516e29--tattoo-guys-beard-tattoo.jpg (643×900)

This is how he meets Sammy.  Sammy is a chocolate lab, who’s owner/human/person has died. She loved him and he really loved her with all his heart, he is so sad that he couldn’t save her. We all know that “love” is what causes “the spark” so dogs can become “quickened”(able to change into a human). Because of this, Sammy is getting smarter and smarter every day.

A single stroke can change your world.

Xander Fairchild can’t stand people in general and frat boys in particular, so when he’s forced to spend his summer working on his senior project with Skylar Stone, a silver-tongued Delta Sig with a trust fund who wants to make Xander over into a shiny new image, Xander is determined to resist. He came to idyllic, Japanese culture-soaked Benten College to hide and make manga, not to be transformed into a corporate clone in the eleventh hour.
Skylar’s life has been laid out for him since before he was born, but all it takes is one look at Xander’s artwork, and the veneer around him begins to crack. Xander himself does plenty of damage too. There’s something about the antisocial artist’s refusal to yield that forces Skylar to acknowledge how much his own orchestrated future is killing him slowly…as is the truth about his gray-spectrum sexuality, which he hasn’t dared to speak aloud, even to himself.
Through a summer of art and friendship, Xander and Skylar learn more about each other, themselves, and their feelings for one another. But as their senior year begins, they must decide if they will part ways and return to the dull futures they had planned, or if they will take a risk and leap into a brightly colored future—together.

Now I am gonna confess and say that I knew absolutely nothing about this book before I started it.

So imagine my surprise and intrigue when I found out that one of the characters is asexual (or somewhere on the spectrum). I have to admit that I’m pretty clueless when it comes to asexuality or anything really, that falls into the gray area of sexuality. So color me intrigued.
