What’s meant to be will always find a way.
Perfection isn’t an illusion.
I met it, held it in my hands.
But then it slipped right through.
Perfection isn’t an illusion.
It’s elusive, cleverly evasive, and, in many ways, a horrible tease.
I’m not a man to be toyed with.
Quiet, thoughtful, and even sometimes careful,
but never someone to taunt.
Even the most controlled men have a breaking point.
I just met mine.
Why mess with perfection?
You don’t.
Unless perfection messes with you.
This is book 6 in the GearShark series and is NOT a standalone.

~Synopsis~

The only thing drawn to her more than danger is him…

Danger isn’t Zoey’s middle name. But it is something she can’t forget, something she’s reminded of every time she looks in the mirror. For those reasons, Zoey has become an expert at creating the perfect illusion. Her ability to fool the eye, to create truth where there was previously none makes her the best in the business.

Working as a makeup and special effects artist for Hollywood combines her two life must-haves: her passion for makeup and hiding in plain sight.

It also doesn’t hurt that she’s safe within the heavily secured and secret studio sets, away from the public eye.

Then her perfect job becomes her perfect nightmare.

Not only does her illusion slip with the blast of icy water, but it does so in front of the country’s biggest action hero and the gossipiest of celebrity TV shows.

At first, Zoey thinks danger hasn’t caught up to her and the worst thing about her mishap is the world’s most perfect man sees her in all her not-so-perfect glory.

Until a series of unexplained “accidents” begins on set.

That’s when Zoey knows.

Danger has caught up to her… and this time she fears death has, too.

Every race has a finish line.
Where you go after you cross it is what matters most.
And sometimes, that’s the most intriguing.
Here at GearShark, we’ve featured lots of drivers.
All of them are well acquainted with the finish line.
And as race fans, we’re well acquainted with cheering as they cross it.

What we aren’t privy to is riding shotgun, seeing where they drive once the race is over.
Our interviews barely scratch the surface, offering just a glimpse of the men and women behind the wheel.
The discovery of vanished Motocross sensation Jayson Hamilton, who has been right under our noses for years, proves secrets abound.

It’s time to dig deep. Look beyond the racetrack at the drivers who continue to pique our interest. In addition to scoring an exclusive, all-access interview with the elusive Jayson Hamilton (his first and only since the death of his fellow racer and partner Matt Lewis),
we’ve caught up with some of our most popular featured men and women in the racing world.

Where are they now?
Who are they now?
What do these hot commodities do when they escape the spotlight?

Rumors of weddings, babies, and new tattoos swirl through the media on a weekly basis.
And though we’re headlining the hashtag #Finishline, we’re far from finished.
In fact, we’re just getting started.
This newest issue of GearShark is jam packed with everything you’ve been dying to know…
and it just might be our biggest page-turner yet.

From the Author

#FinishLine is not a standalone novel. You need to have read #Blur and #Swag to fully understand this book. #Finishline is told in the POV of Arrow and Hopper. The second part of the book is told in the POV of Joey and Lorhaven. #FinishLine includes a BONUS interview with Trent and Drew in the back!

I hope you enjoy this book, it was a blast to write!

Hopper
“What’s wrong?” he demanded the second I opened the door.
“Nothing,” I said and motioned for him to come in.
He pulled off his Oakleys and slid one earpiece beneath the neck of his dark-blue T-shirt so they were out of his hands and stepped into the apartment.
His eyes searched out his brother, wanting to be sure all was well.
“He isn’t here,” I said and shut the door.
Lorhaven turned. “Where is he?”
“Meeting,” I replied.
“Why aren’t you there?” He scrutinized.
“Because I didn’t need to be.” I cleared my throat. “And, I, ah, wanted to talk to you. Alone.”
His eyes narrowed suspiciously. “Why?”
Arrow’s big brother was an asshole. It wasn’t anything new to me, and his constant suspicious demeanor didn’t offend me like it used to. I understood his extreme overprotective nature when it came to Arrow (and Joey). I even respected it.
There was a time when I doubted we would ever get along. Hell, sometimes I still doubted it. But ever since the day I raced across the track to pull Arrow out of a multicar pile-up, things were different between me and Lorhaven.
Friendlier.
He welcomed me to the family that day, and since then, he’d backed up his handshake with actions. Arrow and I hung out with him and Joey regularly, something I knew meant a lot to A.
To me, too.
Joey was my first and only real friend since Matt died. The months we’d spent not really speaking had hurt. To have her friendship back along with a new one in Lorhaven gave me the sense of family I’d deprived myself of for so long.
“There’s something I want to ask you,” I said.
He made a sound, sort of an agreement, and shrugged out of the jacket to fling it over the back of the couch. “You called me down here because you want to ask me a question?”
“It’s not something I could do over the phone.”
He folded his arms over his chest and regarded me in a way that would probably make a lesser man piss his pants. Lorhaven didn’t intimidate me. He never did, and he never would.
But, uh, yeah… I was anxious right now.
“I know how close you are to A.” I began. “He told me you’re more like a dad to him than The Fucker ever was.”
Lorhaven’s arms dropped to his sides. “He told you that?”
I nodded. “Yeah. And honestly, I’m fucking grateful to you for that.”
Shock widened his very dark eyes. I committed the look to memory as I smothered a smile. I’d likely not see that look on his face ever again.
My voice dropped. “I think you were the one thing that stood between Arrow and total shutdown a few years ago.”
“Until you came along,” he replied, gruff.
“Thank you for everything you did for him, for everything you do. I know you already know how much he appreciates you, but now you know I do, too.”
“He’s my family,” he said, like it was all he needed to say.
I half smiled.
“As touching as this is…” Lorhaven studied me. “Why do I get the feeling you want something?”
“Because I do.” I took a deep breath. “I want Arrow.”
He made a sound. “Pretty sure you already got that.”
I shook my head once. “I want to marry him.”
Lorhaven jolted like someone tossed a bucket of ice water over his head. “You wanna what?”
“I’m gonna ask Arrow to marry me, but before I do, I’d like your permission.”

#FinishLine (GearShark #5) by Cambria Hebert

4.5+stars.png (1271×246):

I was so happy when I found out, that there was gonna be another book in the “Gearshark” series.

This is the fifth book and a continuation of Arrow and Hopper’s relationship, as well as Joey and Lorhaven’s. I know that it has been said that book 3 and 4 should be read before this one, but I don’t agree with that statement. So for those of you who only read MM and have skipped book 3, don’t worry, you can still read this one without getting confused.

Do make sure to read book 4 though! If you haven’t..you should do it right now !!

giphy.gif (615×346)

I think Arrow and Hopper cover about 70% of this book, then the story switches to Joey and Lorhaven and their POV.

I myself did read all the books in this series and I loved getting a bit more Joey and Lorhaven. Their HEA was very sweet and for those of you who want to know,…yes there is a detailed sex scene. If this really bothers you, just skip this part, but don’t skip this book, because then you will miss out on Hopper and Arrows very deserved HEA.I don’t want to go into many details of what this book is about. So I will be keeping my review a bit vague.

We already know from the last book, that Hopper and Arrow found true love with one another. They didn’t have it easy and the previous book had me crying out loud. This was not the case with this book.

I read most of it, with a huge smile on my face.

Would this have been their first book, I might have found it a bit too sweet, but damn these boys deserved some freaking sweetness together !! I really think this book took away some of the pain I went through with book 4. They needed it…and I needed it as well. 😀

There are no big dramas in this one. To me, even though there were some hard parts for Hopper, …

…was a total “feel good” book.

Damn-it-feels-good.gif (400×224)

These two really belong together and I am so excited about their HEA

As far as the rest of the book goes…I loved it.

I loved Joey and Lorhaven and I seriously loved their little epilog…It also made me laugh my ass off !! Lorhaven really is the best…

…and the most growly and protective !!

20134296.gif (500×210)

I hate saying goodbye to this series, but I will be keeping my eye on this author. I loved the “Hashtag” series and I loved “Gearshark”, so …

…I am pretty sure that whatever comes next…I will end up loving it !!!

Wow…Ever since reading the previous books in this series (which I loved), I have been looking forwards to Arrow’s story

. I figured I was gonna like his book because I have liked Arrow ever since he was introduced in the previous books. What I had not expected was for this book to become my absolute favorite of the series !!

I do however want to start with a little warning that this book does not pull any punches. There might be some triggers for some people, so be aware. I started crying within the first couple of pages. Damn this book punched me in the gut !!

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor punch in the gut + gif

If you’ve read any of the previous books, then you already know that Arrow has experienced some difficult times in his life.

I was very curious about what exactly happened to Arrow. I don’t want to spoiler the story, but I will say that it was awful and that it broke my little black heart…Needless to say, Arrow’s heart and everything about him, was also broken. It has shattered him into a million tiny pieces…

But Arrow does not give up.

With the help of his brother Jace (book 3), his new sister Joey and his friends Drew and Trent, he starts building a new future…racing cars. This racing career also brings something else to his life, something he didn’t think he would ever have.

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor mending a broken heart + gifIt brings him, Hopper.

Hopper is broken in his own way. Once upon a time, he had it all, but one split second took everything away. Now Hopper lives his life in the shadows…

That is until he sets his eyes on Arrow...

“I wasn’t expecting you”……”It’s okay…..I wasn’t expecting you either”

Slowly, these two men, start healing each other’s broken pieces. It isn’t always easy, but it sure is beautiful.

I absolutely loved Arrow and Hopper together.

Gerelateerde afbeeldingThey had a lot of baggage to overcome, but they showed that love does conquer all.In a way, I’m very surprised with how much I loved this book, especially because it has one of my pet peeves’s in it.I won’t tell you which one because it’s a spoiler, but it didn’t really bother me in this story.

The only complaint I have is that I wish there would have been a bit more dialogue, instead of thoughts…

I don’t know if there’s gonna be another book in this series. I really hope so, I’m gonna keep a close eye on this author, because so far, I have loved every book in this series. Even book 3, which was an M/F book, and we all know how difficult I can be about those !!

Highly Recommend!
