Sage Mayson had Kimberly Cullen once, and the memory of that brief encounter has tortured him since the moment he pushed her away. He should have followed his gut, but he didn’t, and now he’s left watching the woman he wants more than anything from afar.
Kimberly vowed to protect her heart from Sage, but when her sister is murdered and her world starts to fall apart, he’s the one person she finds herself leaning on.
Getting a second chance is something Sage knows is rare. He’s not going to squander the one he’s been given, and he won’t take no for an answer when it comes to making Kim his.
But what Sage doesn’t know is Kim has a secret that could leave them both devastated and heartbroken.
Until Sage (Until Him #2) by Aurora Rose Reynolds
I love this author and I have read all the books in this series and the other series.
That’s a lot of books and I can honestly say, that I am still not bored with them. All these books have possessive alpha men and a heavy case of insta-love, which I don’t even mind.
That said, this wasn’t my favorite of the series. I enjoyed it…. I just didn’t love it as much as I did all the others.
I gave it 4 stars, but it’s more like 3,5 to me…
In the previous book, it was made clear that Sage messed up his chance to be with Kim.
In this book, we find out what exactly happened between the two of them, and how they move forward from there.
For some reason, I expected a bit more on what was going on between them and how things went wrong. Sage messing up, felt a bit rushed over and they were back together in a flash.
After reuniting, not much else happens, to be honest.
I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop or for things to take a different turn, but they never did.Sure Kim is struggling with some personal stuff and when Sage finally finds out towards the end, they have some falling out…but even that was fixed within a few pages. It also didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. Not her keeping her secret and not how he reacted when he found out.
For me, there just wasn’t enough meat to the story. I liked it, but I expected so much more from these two…especially since we have known them for some time.
It was good…but I expected the best. My bad I guess.
I do hope that the next book (yes I will definitely read the next books) will wow me a bit more.
