~Synopsis~

In a small town about an hour’s drive outside Dublin, there’s a whiskey distillery.

Jim has worked in the distillery as its business manager since he returned to his home town after getting his degree. Whiskey is a slow business and rural life is quiet, but Jim takes it in his stride. That is, until the handsome and mysterious Mr. Aiden Rooney moves into a room above the local pub and sets off a flurry of gossip.
Aiden’s an artist, and his devil-may-care attitude is a revelation to Jim. But he still lives in a small town in rural Ireland, and he’s not even sure if he wants to be out and proud. The choices they make could change everything, if only Jim dares to follow his heart.

~Synopsis~

Cooper Reed has a fairly relaxed life for someone who lives in LA. He’s no celebrity—just the guy who makes sundaes at the Dreamy Creamery, and that’s the way he likes it. The highlight of every week is the beautiful guy who turns up and orders a sundae with rainbow sprinkles. Cooper still isn’t sure if that’s a code because he has a huge crush and the hot guy is terrible at flirting.

Drew Tanner, it turns out, is an original California dreamer. He’s as wholesome as apple pie and twice as sweet, a real-life Disney Prince at Disneyland. But while Drew’s head is in the clouds, Cooper’s feet are firmly on the ground, and their different outlooks might be more than their new relationship can take.

I recently read and enjoyed The Impossible Boy. In fact, it’s up there in my top reads so far this year, so I was excited to read my second book by this Author but unfortunately it fell a little flat for me.

I think this just really wasn’t my thing….a bit too sweet for my tastes.

Cooper( who I actually loved ) is currently working at the Dreamy Creamery by day and a bartender at night. He’s pretty content, still trying to work out what he wants to do with his life. One thing is certain he’s more than a bit smitten with a certain Hottie that regularly comes into the shop.

Drew is an aspiring Actor.Currently doing small acting roles in Disneyland, just waiting for the one break that will further his career.

There’s no doubt these two are super cute together.

I enjoyed the first half of the book a lot.

Their flirting and subsequent dates were pretty adorable but things just seemed to move way too quickly in their romance to make it believable for me. Add into the mix the argument/drama between them and it sort of went downhill for me.

If you’re after a short, sweet MM romance this might just be the book for you…

Tattoos & Teacups (Tattoos #1) by Anna Martin

Tattoos and Teacups is a very sweet story about the power of opposites attracting and choosing not to settle for the life you have, but deciding to take some risks and hopefully living the life you want.

Robert is a 32yr old English literature professor, (not to be confused with Gerard Butler his much older doppelgänger, even if they are both Scottish heartthrobs) who has settled into the life of a much older man and is completely comfortable in his regimented days. He has accepted the fact that he will never find love if that is in fact, a real thing. He prides himself on his professional life and the accomplishments he’s earned, even if he may be lonely.

Chris is a beautifully alive 23yr old percussionist, not simply a drummer, who is confident and self-assured. Chris finds himself in Boston, on a short month or two breaks from a cross-country van tour with his band, recharging before continuing on out West.

They have a chance meeting in one of Robert’s favorite pubs, where he has had a few too many pints and his Scottish accent has gotten noticeably thicker…Chris can’t help but mistake him for the dreaded Butler. Robert doubts he has anything to offer the gorgeous younger man, can’t possibly believe he would ever be interested in the older professor, but Robert decides to take a chance and uses the number Chris left for him.
My good friend J said it best, it was like being a fly on the wall watching this couple fall in love…and as unlikely a pair as they were…fall they did.

It was a bit quick, but sometimes love happens quickly, it felt genuine. The real story here was what happens next. Life comes calling and tough choices have to be made. Sometimes when you love someone you have to put yourself aside, then figure out what comes next for you.
I was surprised more than once whilst reading this, which is always a treat.
This couple shows real vulnerability coupled with all the hot and steamy sex, you get the full view of who they are.
All in all a good, low angst enjoyable read.

The Impossible Boy by Anna Martin

“I’m a boy and a girl both, in different ways. Some people call it gender-fluid.”

When I read a friend’s review of this and saw the blurb I just knew it was my kind of book.I adore femme men, I love the heels, the makeup, the long hair, the clothes. And add into the mix a man who is the opposite and I’m in book heaven.

I make no apologies for the fact I like my men to be dirty, really dirty.I’m talking about men being manhandled and pushed around in the most deliciously filthy ways and this book is nothing like that.

These two men don’t fuck
These two men make love
And it is quite beautiful.

Stan is 22 and has just moved to London to start a job working for a fashion magazine. He’s stunningly beautiful and has loads of offers to become a model but that’s definitely not an option for him due to his past.He had the opportunity to go through transition but couldn’t as he doesn’t identify with being transgender.I didn’t really understand fully what being gender-fluid was and thought the Author explained it well, especially in the conversations Stan had with Ben and Tone.

Stan meets Ben one night in the bar Ben works in.When Ben first sees Stan he is blown away by his beauty, initially thinking he’s a girl. However, when he realizes Stan is a man he’s not fazed in any way.

For the most part, men didn’t like being come on to by a man who looked more like a girl.A hot girl.A really hot, slightly confusing girl.Stan knew what he looked like he owned it.

This book was not what I expected at all. It’s romantic and sweet. These men don’t rush into bed, they go on dates, they hold hands and their relationship develop at just the right pace.Ben is completely unfazed by Stan’s past, he just sees a beautiful man he wants to be with.On Stan’s part, he’s never had the kind of attention Ben gives him from any other man.

It’s not all rainbows and sunshine, though, when Stan’s demons from the past resurface. However, it wasn’t unnecessary drama and played an important part in these two men’s relationship.

Highly recommended!
