Truth and lies.
Captain Jamie Callahan knows the Metahuman Defense Force frowns on fraternization. For once in his life, he’s breaking all the rules. Having Staff Sergeant Kyle Brannigan on his team and in his bed is worth the risk of being found out. When a mission comes down requiring Alpha Team to go undercover in order to infiltrate a criminal alliance, Jamie knows it won’t be easy. Putting his family’s name on the line is nothing compared to the role the MDF wants him to play—that of a billionaire’s son, discharged from the military, with a lover on his arm, looking to make his own shady business deals.
Dirty little secret.
Kyle knows the only way to be with Jamie is to hide their relationship from their superiors. Waking up to Jamie at home is more important than being together in public, or so Kyle thought, until he comes face to face with what he’s been missing. Pretending to be a couple on paper for the sake of the mission thrusts Kyle into a world of incredible wealth and a social status he’s not sure he belongs in, but he’ll do anything to stay by Jamie’s side.
Play the game to win.
Surrounded by the enemy, Jamie and Kyle need to trust each other now more than ever. Their covers—and the life they’re trying to build together—depend on it.

In the Ruins is a 105k word steamy gay sci-fi military romance with a HFN ending that skirts HEA. There is military violence within the story that may not be suitable for everyone, as well as explicit intimate scenes not suitable for readers under the age of 18. This is a sequel to In the Wreckage and reading the first book in the series would be helpful in enjoying this one.

Bender by Gene Gant

****3,5 stars****

This book was recommended to me by a good friend…Dia,…who liked the book. The only thing she told me was that the main character is asexual and initially I was not really interesting to read about this.It is not a subject that I am interested to read in romance books but the description of the book made me curious because I love books especially when they are intense.

This book was interesting for me because it was the first book that I read where the main character, which here is Mace Danner, is asexual. My opinion is that this book is more about the journey of a young man toward the light at the end of a tunnel and is not so much about romance.A journey which is full of pain, darkness, guilt, and self-punishment.

“I’m poison. I poison everything.”

Mace is lonely and broken inside and very confused about his sexuality…because he never been attracted to people, sexually. He lives a secret life as a paid submissive escort to pay college and because he wants to be punished for his brother’s death.Mace feels guilty for the death of his brother and I’ll leave those who want to read the book, to discover while reading, why he feels guilty and circumstances that lead to his brother death.

My heart was broken for him when one night he has “a meeting with a client “and it turns into something else.Because of that night will begin a friendship between him and Dex Hammel. Mace, of course, he tries to keep him away but Dex is determined to help him.

Dex is the dorm’s resident advisor, where both live.He is a nice guy and I like him, but I would have liked to know more about him because I didn’t feel so much the connection between Dex and Mace.

Why Mace feels guilty for the death of his brother?
Why does he feel the need to be punished?
Why did he not let anyone get close to him?
Will can Dex help Mace and convince him that he needs help?
Will their relationship become more than a friendship?
Mace will it be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel?

For those who want to find answers to these questions, I recommend you to read the book.Even if the book is short and is not a normal romance book because the main character is asexual the book is good and the story is interesting.

Dance With Me (Dancing #1) by Heidi Cullinan

******5 beautiful stars*****

I love everything about this book..the story, the character, and the cover beautiful.

Ed Maurer and Laurie Parker …they meet at a local community center where are both volunteers of Halcyon Center.
At first, they did not like each other and there is tension between them until the situation makes Laurie ask Ed if he wants to be his dance partner to a ballroom dance class where he is the instructor.
It is the beginning when everything changes between them because they start to dance… together.

Ed Maurer

Former semipro football player.

Due to a neck injury during a game is forced to give up his football career and lives with pain every day.He has a job that hates but he loves to volunteer at a local community center.

He discovers a new passion..Dancing..Dancing with Laurie.

Laurie Parker

He was once a famous ballet dancer.

After a competition which changed the course of his career he doesn’t want to perform on stage anymore.Laurie just wants to teach dance classes and avoid public society….and …his mother…who insist that he must return to perform on the stage where is his place.

This book is about hope to do what you love, acceptance for who you are as a person, pain, and fear for the changes in your life and learn that sometimes to accept help from the loved ones is not a bad thing.

Ed and Laurie trying to get over some things in their past that changed their lives.

Will be Ed able to accept the changes in his life that he has to live because of his injury? Will Laurie perform on stage again so that people can enjoy his beautiful dance? Will they succeed together to get over the problems they have and try to have a beautiful future together?

Will they dance together until to the very end?

I really recommend this book for those who want to read a sweet love story.

Evenfall (In The Company of Shadows, #1)

by Santino Hassell

*****Years after the bombs of WWIII have changed the physical and political landscape, the Agency ruthlessly works behind the scenes to take down rebel groups that threaten the current government. Their goals justify all means. Hsin Liu Vega (Sin) is their most efficient and deadly assassin ever. However, he tends to go off on unauthorized killing sprees and somehow his assigned partners all end up dead under suspicious circumstances. That is why the Agency has had him locked up in a box on the fourth floor for years. But now they think it is time to put the psychopath back in the field. With a new partner.

Boyd’s mother, a high ranking Agency official, volunteers her teenage son for the position. Boyd is not afraid of death. In fact, his life has been such an endless cycle of apathy and despair for the last few years that he’d welcome it.

Can these two broken men form an efficient partnership? Can they learn to trust anyone, let alone each other? Sin doesn’t give a fuck about the Agency, or the androgynous boy who holds the remote to the shock collar that is supposed to control him.

On the other hand, Boyd is strangely unafraid of the man everyone calls ‘monster’ and Sin seems reluctant to let his keeper get himself killed on any missions. Yet.*****

Could a pair of tattoos ignite a passionate romance?

Technical analyst Garrett Jones lives a solitary life. Occasionally, he must venture into the outside world to get what he needs. On one such occasion, he finds himself at a local tattoo shop getting inked for the first time with a semi-colon as a reminder of his past–a past he cannot allow himself to forget.

Fun-loving and outspoken Dev Hemingway is a social worker for a local LGBTQ shelter. He’s covered in tatts, has long hair, and though most people think he belongs on a Harley, he prefers his Venom electric scooter. He’s adding a semi-colon to his tattoo repertoire to mark eight years since his mental health diagnosis.

Though they start seeing each other casually, Garrett and Dev’s relationship soon deepens into something more than either one could have prepared for. But will the illness that brought them together ultimately be the one to tear them apart? Could this be the end of their story, or is there still too much left unfinished?

I really enjoyed this book!

The main characters Garrett and Dev are wonderful together.Dev..oh I loved him..outside he looks like a bad boy with long hair, his body is covered with tattoos (and drive a scooter 😀 )Dev is outspoken, funny, very easy to be loved and he has a big heart. His past was tormenting because he suffers from bipolar depression but we see here a strong Dev which did not allow of this disease to control his life.

Garrett is a lonely person who has problems to leave the past behind and the breakup with his ex-boyfriend.He feels guilty( for some reasons) and this will affect his relationship with Dev.Sometimes I wanted to slap him, to wake up. :d

The secondary characters they are wonderful and supportive.Sometimes dialogues between the characters are very funny.

I loved the first half but the second part of the book it seemed to me a little too fast forward sometimes but that does not mean I have not enjoyed the book.It is a good book with low angst, hot scenes, lovely and funny characters. I recommend the book!

My sister Julia manipulated my life into a prison to keep me silent about our dirty family secret. Her greed made me a slave and circumstance left me with no way to escape.

Trapped, the only way I could silence the nightmares driving me to insanity was to wrap them in color, hold them with shadow, and stitch them to negative space with line.
But no matter how bright the pigments, no one could see my confession.

Except for Roy Callahan.

I thought he was just another nameless one-night stand in a long line of many.
But I was wrong. Roy could see past the façade of my life and through the veil color over the canvas. He could see what the world couldn’t.
And with him, I’d find the courage, to tell the truth about the boy.

The boy who kissed me.
The boy who loved me.
The boy whose name I couldn’t remember.

I loved this book.We can learn from this book that everyone deserves to be loved and have a chance at a happy life.Highly recommended if you like a story full of darkness, pain, and hopelessness but in the end a beautiful love storyblach-and-white-dr-house-everyone-gif-favim-com-999448

Hell & High Water (THIRDS #1)

***When homicide detective Dexter J. Daley’s testimony helps send his partner away for murder, the consequences—and the media frenzy—aren’t far behind. He soon finds himself sans boyfriend, sans friends, and, after an unpleasant encounter in a parking garage after the trial, he’s lucky he doesn’t find himself sans teeth. Dex fears he’ll get transferred from the Human Police Force’s Sixth Precinct, or worse, get dismissed. Instead, his adoptive father—a sergeant at the Therian-Human Intelligence Recon Defense Squadron otherwise known as the THIRDS—pulls a few strings, and Dex gets recruited as a Defense Agent.

Dex is determined to get his life back on track and eager to get started in his new job. But his first meeting with Team Leader Sloane Brodie, who also happens to be his new jaguar Therian partner, turns disastrous. When the team is called to investigate the murders of three HumaniTherian activists, it soon becomes clear to Dex that getting his partner and the rest of the tightknit team to accept him will be a lot harder than catching the killer—and every bit as dangerous.***

I loved this book!..Dex was so freaking awesome and funny. He made me laugh out loud 😀 and I do not care that some people gave just a star,DNF or whatever…for me the story was amazing. I can’t wait to read more!

Fast Connection (Cyberlove #2)

***After a decade of serving in the Army, everyone still expects me to be Dominic ‘Nicky’ Costigan–the skirt-chasing player. They don’t know I’ve been spending my days trying to figure out my post-military life. Including how to pick up guys.

When I meet Luke on a hookup app, he makes it clear it’s for one-night only. That’s fine with me, because I’m down to see what this silver fox can do. But after I arrive at his doorstep, it doesn’t take long to realize we have serious chemistry, and we end up meeting again.

He’s got more walls around his heart than a military base, but I think he’s as addicted to me as I am to him. He can’t resist me for long. I mean, who can? Except Luke’s rules exist for a reason, and when I test his limits, things get complicated. Maybe too complicated.***

FAST CONNECTION is a standalone, full-length romance novel with no cliffhanger
