A clash of wills between predators…

He’s been living underground for a long time, but the only thing guaranteed to bring Daniel Nieto back to the surface is the identity of his wife’s killer. With the whisper of one name, he puts it all on the line for vengeance. He’s got plans for Stavros Konstantinou.

The title of monster fits too well for Stavros to want to be anything other than what he is. Time spent in Daniel Nieto’s dungeon, chained and tortured, will never change that. Starved of food, sunlight, and freedom, he waits for an opening to turn the tables on the only man who’s ever come close enough to scare him.

Somewhere between the slide of knife against skin, and the drip of blood on cold concrete, things change. Grief and hatred collide with lust and obsession, and this time Daniel and Stavros are on the same side. This time, they’re fighting a losing battle against a connection forged by much more than a love of violence and bloodshed.
In a war this bloodied, what do you do when the bodies start hitting the floor?

This book is Captivating, Dark, Violent, Intense!

Enemies to lovers, the feelings these two men had for each other took my breath away. This book took me completely by surprise and once I got into it, I couldn’t put it down.

“Something happened when they got in the same room. When their eyes met. When they breathed the same air. A dangerously potent something.”

Daniel Nieto has been waiting and waiting to avenge the death of his wife and when the time is right he’s determined to make Stavros Konstantinou suffer.

So many things that I loved about this book…

-A clash of wills, an attraction so powerful that both men were powerless to resist…

“Your touch kills me,” Daniel confessed through the thickness in his throat. “It’s the sweetest murder, and I want it again and again.”

The Mafia plot was concise and didn’t overpower the story.

Daniel’s feelings about his dead wife were extremely well portrayed as he battled with guilt over his attraction to Stavros.

“They were connected, he and Stavros. Connected by blood, by death. By guilt and betrayal too. But also by this crazy unexplainable and emotional need they had to be near each other. Touch each other. Taste each other.”

The Sex scenes…these two are passionate, intense, dirty, and loving…these are definitely some of the best sex scenes I’ve read.

You’ll fall in love with Daniel and Stavros, I’m sure.

Highly Recommended!imageedit_27_3195715136

Men wearing women’s underwear *happy sigh*

This is a quickie but quite delicious…

Dave and Shawn have been friends for years and Shawn has always been a bit in love with Dave. But Dave’s straight…or is he?

When Dave announces he’s broken up with his girlfriend and thinks he might be bi, Shawn can only dare to hope that the object of his fantasy might become a reality.

The most important thing is their friendship but when Dave finds his collection of women’s underwear, all bets are off.

Lace and satin panties, suspenders, stockings, teddies…and it turns out Dave really enjoys watching Shawn get his kink on.

“He reached into the bag and removed the tissue-wrapped teddy. His hands shaking, Shawn put it on, aware of Dave’s eyes on him the whole time. When he straightened and faced him, his heart pounding, Dave gave a slow nod. “Fucking sexy man. Get on the bed, on all fours. Face the headboard.”

But is Dave only into the kink or does he really care for Shawn??

The book is pretty short…could probably be read in a couple of hours and it’s on KU.

If you’re after a sweet, sexy, story with a nice bit of kink…I would definitely recommend this.imageedit_44_8150275859

“I think I’m ready for a new beginning.”

Firstly, can this be standalone? Possibly but I would strongly advise reading No Regrets to really understand Abel’s story. I would say to anyone that has read No Regrets and is a bit apprehensive about reading this one, don’t be.

Abel lost his husband, Landon, six months ago when this book opens and to say he’s struggling is an understatement. The Abel here is nothing like the happy go lucky, endearing, pushy character from No Regrets.
He’s struggling with every aspect of his life. His college grades are slipping, he can’t concentrate on his job….the only comfort he finds is with alcohol, just to numb the pain and loss.

Hard to read at times but his grief was extremely well portrayed.

On a visit back to Landon’s hometown Abel finds help from someone he would probably have never expected to get close to.The Author did an excellent job in the development of these two men’s relationship.Nothing is rushed or forced and while their story definitely isn’t easy, it develops at just the right pace…to me, it felt totally credible and their shared connection to Landon…

Was both beautiful and heartbreaking…

As the story progresses we gradually see Abel emerging from his grief and allowing himself to feel love again.I definitely shed tears at the end but it was just perfect. This book, along with No Regrets are the only books I’ve read by Nicky James and I found her writing just captivating.

It’s sad, uplifting, hopeful, and very special and definitely one of my top reads this year.imageedit_44_8150275859

I buried my twin sister six months after she found out she had cancer. Her funeral was three months ago. Today is our birthday and it started with delivery of letters from her.

It seems she didn’t trust me to move on after her death. She knows me too well. But how can I go on when my other half is just…gone? That’s not something I can recover from with a snap of my fingers. But I also can’t ignore her instructions even though I’d be perfectly content to cuddle up with my buddy, Johnnie Walker, and call it a year.

She has a list of things for me to do and there are rules attached.

There’s one major problem besides the fact it’s been three months since I left the house. I have to do all these things with her jerk of an ex, Hawk Simmons. He abandoned her shortly after she found out she was sick. If that wasn’t enough to make this a really bad idea, the fact that he makes an appearance in all my nighttime fantasies probably does.

I don’t think I can do this, but I owe it to my sister’s memory to try.

Make a wish, Ethan.Believe in it.It’s time to live.imageedit_44_8150275859

From the blurb, I thought this might be a quite depressing, heavy story but it wasn’t.Yes, it deals with Cancer and Death but the writing is clever, in that it’s actually quite uplifting as the reader goes on Ethan’s journey and how he deals with his loss.

Ethan and Emma are twins. They live and work together and were extremely close except when it came to men.

The story opens with Ethan…

…Struggling in every aspect of his life after the death of his twin sister, Emma. His only comfort is alcohol, as he desperately tries to numb his pain.A surprise visit from an Attorney, Katya, is about to change his life forever.

Emma left instructions that in order for Ethan to own their shared business and house he must complete 25 tasks. The only problem is that it means coming face to face and spending time with Hawk…

Emma’s ex. Ethan hates Hawk…

…After all, he walked away from Emma when she was diagnosed. The instructions are delivered to both men in a series of letters.Hawk’s story with Emma is not explained at first but is slowly revealed as the book progresses.

I don’t want to say too much about the actual story but let’s just say that Ethan and Hawk have a strong attraction to each other…and it’s quite delicious.Hawk has the whole bad boy image going on and Ethan appears to be quite geeky and reserved…

“Hawk Simmons stood there. Part wary. Part defensive. Part disgruntled. All gorgeous. Like a dog smelling a steak, his dick perked up at the sight of Hawk. Fucking hell. Hawk had some sort of Latin heritage in his background that gave him a sultry, swarthy appearance. With his chiseled jaw, highlighted by dark scruff, he gave new meaning to the phrase tall, dark, and handsome. (…)”

I think what made this book special was Emma. She only plays a part here in her letters and drawings but her presence was so important to the story.I absolutely loved that girl.

The last part of the book was very emotional and I definitely shed a few tears.

Don’t worry, they were happy tears in the end.

A recommended read!imageedit_44_8150275859

“I think I’m in love with you. And I don’t know what to do.”imageedit_44_8150275859

I’ve got to admit to being just a little bit obsessed with Instagram, myself, so this was the perfect read for me.This series is firmly up there as one of my favorite MM series.Santino Hassell is a Master at taking two completely different characters and making them fit together.

I was more than a bit fascinated by Ashton…

…when he was introduced in book three and the fact that he’s a bit femme was just my thing. To the outside world, Ashton appears to live a gifted, glamorous life which he’s happy to play out through social media. But, behind closed doors, he’s lost.Ignored by his wealthy family for being different, forced into modeling, all he wants is to be loved and he still craves respect from his family.

Val grew up in the Townsend family, the son of Ashton’s Nanny.

Despite their differences, they become friends at a young age.But Val hates everything about the Townsend family…their wealth, their treatment of Ashton, their ability to manipulate people. He’s determined to make it on his own and wants no part of their money, but what happens when a secret from the past is threatened to be revealed?

They skirt around each other, there’s angst, drama, a constant push and pull between them as they both figure out what they want from life and each other.

Out of all the books in this series, this one could definitely be read as a standalone but if you’re a fan of gritty, real to life, flawed characters…

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this series.

Laurent and the Beast (Kings of Hell MC #1)

 by K.A. Merikan

*****5 Stars*****imageedit_104_7293237175

An amazing, captivating story!

It’s no secret that K.A. Merikan are two of my favorite MM Authors.

Their stories are brilliantly unique-you never quite know what to expect. This is a very well thought out, cleverly written story. What happens when two worlds collide and two very different men are drawn to each other. One, completely innocent and one worn down by a life he never envisaged for himself.

Laurent Mercier is just 19, an indentured servant, separated from his family.

He cuts quite a lonely figure…he has no sexual experience but yearns for the touch of a man..His one passion is his love of books, so when he thinks he’s met a kindred spirit and someone he’s attracted to he is finally ready to give in to his desires. He could never have foreseen how his life was about to be changed forever.

Beast is 32.Badly disfigured in a fire, he’s covered his body in tattoos.

The last thing he wants is pity from anyone so he chooses not to seek the company of other men and is resigned to be alone. But appearances are definitely deceptive because deep down he’s a good man.

When Laurent enters his world he has no idea what to make of the strange, beautiful, young man…but, one thing is clear, he’s deeply attracted to Laurent. But could someone like that be attracted to him?

Laurent…what can I say?

These Authors have created some truly fascinating, engaging characters in their books and Laurent is no exception.I just adored him.His beauty, his innocence, his naivety and his strength captivated me.
But, has he left one life as a servant only to become a prisoner in another life? And how far is he willing to go to live his life the way he wants to?

Laurent and Beast’s story is far from perfect at times.Beast’s insecurities about his appearance are always there, bubbling away under the surface and while Laurent might be innocent he knows what he wants from life.As they get to know each other Laurent sees past the outward appearance and really sees the man Beast is inside.

“I once knew an incredibly handsome man. When you looked at his face, his beauty made you assume he was the perfect gentleman. But deep down, in his heart, he held evil you wouldn’t comprehend.People are wrong to judge you by your scars.”

This story has a dark, gothic feel to it.As a reader, you know what Laurent must do to obtain his freedom but you really have no idea how things will play out.

I can already tell it’s going to be an amazing series and with three more books to come, I’m totally invested.

The next one is Knight’s story and I can’t wait…

He’s a total manwhore in the most delicious way but I’m guessing there’s a lot more to him.

Time-travel, age difference, innocence, darkness…a very well executed story.

Highly recommended!imageedit_13_3304703250

*****5 Stars*****

To say that this was one of my most anticipated reads, so far, this year is an understatement.

I’ve been dying to read Ian’s story and it didn’t disappoint.

I might even have to bump Jude and Snow(just a bit) because Hollis and Ian are my absolute favorite couple in this series…they were everything I hoped they’d be.

Ever since he met Ian…Hollis has been captivated by Ian.

So when he gets the chance to finally end Ian’s nightmares and bring Boris Jagger to justice he doesn’t hesitate. But things don’t always go as planned and with Jagger still, at large the men must think of another way to entrap him.

Hollis and Ian and Rowe and Noah are sent to a ‘safe’ house and this is when Hollis and Ian can finally have time together and give in to their explosive attraction to each other.

And it was definitely worth the wait…these two are seriously hot together.

“You’re so goddamn gorgeous, you steal my breath away,” Hollis said, bending to lick the water from Ian’s neck.”I’m glad the other two left because we are gonna make some noise.”

With time running out, Ian knows he must confront his past and remember things he’s tried to forget.

These men made his heart beat with strength, with courage…with love and acceptance.

Ian’s story, at the hands of Jagger, was heartbreaking to read but he showed such strength of character as the painful memories slowly came back to him.

This is a unique series!

A connection between four men that goes way beyond friendship.

They find love, experience loss and heartbreak but are always there for each other and, without a doubt…

…the bond between them is unbreakable…

A highly recommended series!

Through Ryan’s trials, there are three different perspectives: a best friend watching from the outside, a lover desperate to get in, and his own mind.
His struggles were theirs. He just didn’t know it.
A tragic accident changed Dr. Ryan Jacobs’ life and freed him from a past he thought he’d never escape, but with that freedom came the realization: he could escape the man, but would be bound to the torturous battle within his mind. Fighting for control of his thoughts, he lived recklessly in a life of addiction and the next good time. Wearing a mask of deception, and hiding it beautifully behind his playboy ways, he fooled himself into thinking this was the real him, but he couldn’t fool everyone.
Dr. Michael Jonas considered Ryan more than just a friend, he was his family. With the support of his wife, Michael held Ryan’s hand, listened to him cry, and helped him through the hardest events of his life. He could see through the fake smiles and playboy attitude, seeing his best friend for the man he really was. After Michael’s wife had given birth to their first child, Michael vowed never to let pain affect his family again, Ryan included. But Michael carried his own burdens and watching Ryan struggle was harder than he thought. It tore him apart, silently, until there was only one choice. Save his best friend before it was too late.
As a high-powered attorney, Jayson Alexander thrived on easy thrills both in his professional and personal life, but when his heart broke the rules, he had no choice but to break it and run from the pain. Obsessive about controlling his own life, he set goals and rules and tried to ensure his own happiness, but life had a different plan. So he sought out answers and took on a case that would eventually change everything. He was drawn to Ryan from the moment he laid eyes on him. With a magnetic connection he couldn’t deny, he found Ryan irresistible, but he found out quickly the connection was more than physical. Jayson wanted Ryan, but how could he fight the demons Ryan’s mind was creating and stop them from pushing him away?
Ryan built a force field around his heart, vowing after that tragic day, no man would be allowed close enough to ever hurt him again, but with the support of his best friend and the man he loved, could Ryan beat The Struggle Within once and for all?

Due to strong sexual content and language, The Struggle Within is intended for mature readers 18 years of age or over.

Where to start with this review?

Story wise, it’s going to be vague-I don’t really want to give anything away.I was definitely apprehensive about reading this but I’m all for diversity in books and I’m finding more and more that books that take me out of my comfort zone, actually work for me.

This book won’t be for everyone but I would say…give it a chance…

It deals with mental, physical, and emotional abuse, but it’s also a story of friendship, love, and hopehope, that anyone who has suffered from any form of abuse can eventually find happiness.

Before and after the story there are personal, real-life stories of men who have suffered from abuse and I found their stories incredibly moving.

“I played roulette with my body, keeping my mind pacified and my heart safe.”

While it’s Ryan who was abused here, it’s not just his story. It’s about three men and their connections to each other.

Michael is Ryan’s friend but he’s so much more than that. He’s an ever present, positive force in Ryan’s life.In my view, he plays a massive part in the man Ryan ends up to be.

Jayson, an attorney, plays an integral part in the story…he never gives up on Ryan.

I’ve got two close friends who suffered from mental and physical abuse…not to the extent Ryan did, and thankfully they walked away and found happiness. My point in mentioning this is that I thought the Author has perfectly portrayed what victims of abuse go through.

The feelings of no self-worth.
The shame…
Being trapped in a relationship they are unable to walk away from because they feel so defeated.

Ryan’s story is heartbreaking but it felt real.As a reader, you go on a journey with him.The anonymous sex, the use of prescription drugs are all coping mechanisms…

Until he finally finds happiness.

See My Words (Spectrum Nights #2) by Melanie Hansen

*****4.5 Stars*****

I seriously couldn’t wait to read this after reading book one Pieces of Me and it didn’t disappoint.

I knew that Scott and Rylan still had a long way to go.Their story is extremely emotional and was quite hard to read at times but ultimately it’s a love story, a second chance for two men that were, in the end, perfect together.

This book continues straight after events at the end of book one.

Scott, having always relied on his looks and charisma, finds himself in a difficult place.Just as his life seemed to be on track, career-wise, he’s delt a massive setback.

I found this difficult to read at times. Scott is so emotionally scarred…all he’s been shown in his young life was negatively and the insecurities continued into adulthood. When Rylan comes back into his life, he still can’t let go of the past and tries over and over to push him away believing he’s not good enough for Rylan.

I absolutely loved Rylan. As a reader, I always believed in his love and commitment to Scott and he was what made this book so special for me.Yes, at times, I wanted him to walk away but I always believed in him to do the right thing for both of them.

This is about two men finding their way in life…

…dealing with the past, facing up to the future and while they both had their struggles it was Scott that went on one hell of a journey…and, in the end, he figured it out on his own.

This is emotional, angsty but I always had faith that these two men would make it.

Have to mention one of the best secondary characters I’ve read about in Minh…

I know we kind of got his story/conclusion but I would absolutely love more of his and Chris’s story…maybe just a novella??

Highly Recommended series!
