~Synopsis~

New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Harper Sloan returns with a passionate and breathless romance about the sparks that ignite when a cautious cowboy and a once-scorned woman open up to each other in the third installment of the Coming Home series.
As the eldest Davis, Clayton has always tried to lead by example. He takes his job as head of the family businesses seriously, making sure the farm and auto shop are running smoothly—along with keeping an eye on his brother and sister. For him, there’s a time and place to let go of the control he holds with an iron grip. And with the way he grew up, coupled with disastrous end to his last relationship, he’s just fine with his quiet, solitary life.
Most of the time.
What he hadn’t counted on was cute, quirky, shy bookstore owner, Caroline Michaels. She’s the proverbial woman next door—well, the next town over, that is. Caroline hasn’t lived an easy life, but after escaping an abusive ex, she’s finally living it for herself. The last thing she ever expected was a one-night stand with Clay Davis, a night she can’t stop thinking about.
So when she falls on hard times and Clay comes out of nowhere to her rescue, she realizes just how impossible it’ll be to stay away from him. Now all she has to do is convince him to live a little…
Will Clay be able to give up the reins and finally settle down? And, more importantly, will Caroline muster enough courage to lasso him up?

I am a huge fan of cowboys and a huge fan of Harper Sloan…

So…of course, I am also a fan of this new series of her. 😉 After enjoying the first two books, we have now come to book 3 in the series and it’s time for Clay’s story.

~Pre-Release Review~So Over You (Chicago Rebels #2) by Kate Meader~

Author: Kate Meader
Series: Chicago Rebels #2
Genre(s): Romance, Sport
Release Date: December 4, 2017
Reviewer: ~Wendy~
Rating: 3.5 Stars out of 5

~Synopsis~

Three estranged sisters struggle to sustain their late father’s failing hockey franchise in Kate Meader’s sizzling Chicago Rebels series. In this second entry, middle sister Isobel is at a crossroads in her personal and professional lives. But both are about to get a significant boost with the addition of a domineering Russian powerhouse to the Rebels….
Isobel Chase knows hockey. She played NCAA, won Olympic silver, and made it thirty-seven minutes into the new National Women’s Hockey League before an injury sidelined her dreams. Those who can’t, coach, and a position as a skating consultant to her late father’s hockey franchise, the Chicago Rebels, seems like a perfect fit. Until she’s assigned her first job: the man who skated into her heart as a teen and relieved her of her pesky virginity. These days, left-winger Vadim Petrov is known as the Czar of Pleasure, a magnet for puck bunnies and the tabloids alike. But back then… let’s just say his inability to sink the puck left Isobel frustratingly scoreless.
Vadim has a first name that means “ruler,” and it doesn’t stop at his birth certificate. He dominates on the ice, the practice rink, and in the backseat of a limo. But a knee injury has produced a bad year, and bad years in the NHL don’t go unrewarded. His penance? To be traded to a troubled team where his personal coach is Isobel Chase, the woman who drove him wild years ago when they were hormonal teens. But apparently the feeling was not entirely mutual.
That Vadim might have failed to give Isobel the pleasure that was her right is intolerable, and he plans to make it up to her—one bone-melting orgasm at a time. After all, no player can perfect his game without a helluva lot of practice…

I am a huge fan of sport themed books and the hockey ones are my absolute favorite. I also have a big thing for Russian men…So, of course, I had to read this one.

JoyousBriefAmericanbobtail.gif (500×281)

This is a series about three sisters, who have inherited the Chicago Rebels Hockey team from their father. Each book features a different sister. This time we get Isobel’s story. I did read the first book, but I think reading this one as a standalone, shouldn’t be a problem.

As one of the league’s toughest enforcers, Van Turner is ruthless on the ice. He plays hard because it’s the only way to channel the rage boiling inside, and a reputation as an A-hole is better than everyone knowing the truth. Then the Carolina Cold Fury makes him an offer he can’t refuse…and Van meets a woman he can’t resist.
Simone Fournier is the stubborn one in her family—and that’s saying something, considering her brothers are two of the Cold Fury’s biggest stars. Simone gets what she wants, and what she wants is Van. Still, there’s a part of him Simone can’t reach, no matter how hard she tries. In private, he’s all fire and passion. Everyone knows I am a big Hockey fan…

And even though I skipped some books in this series, (don’t ask me why because I don’t even know) I was very excited about reading this one. 😉 Sawyer gives us another very steamy (and a bit kinky) addition to this wonderful series. I wonder how many she’ll add since we are in book 9 already!

Not that I’m complaining…no sire!!

It has been a couple of weeks since I have read this one, but I just didn’t know how to put my feelings for this book into words. I still don’t really…

I always try and write my reviews right after I finish a book because I fear I might forget some important details, especially with the number of books I read. I wasn’t worried about that with this book because I will never ever forget this story!

It touched me deeply and it left a huge impression!

~Synopsis~

Amalie Whitfield is the picture of a blushing bride during her wedding reception–but for all the wrong reasons. Instead of proclaiming his undying love, her husband can be heard, by Amalie and their guests, getting off with someone else. She has every reason to freak out, and in a moment of insanity, she throws herself at the first hot-blooded male she sees. But he’s not interested in becoming her revenge screw.
Mortified and desperate to escape the post-wedding drama, Amalie decides to go on her honeymoon alone, only to find the man who rejected her also heading to the same tiny island for work. But this time he isn’t holding back. She should know better than to sleep with someone she knows, but she can’t seem to resist him.
They might agree that what happens on the island should stay on the island, but neither one can deny that their attraction is more than just physical.
Filled with hilariously scandalous situations and enough sexual chemistry to power an airplane from New York City to the South Pacific, Hooking Up is the next standalone, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy from Helena Hunting, the New York Times bestselling author of the Pucked series and Shacking Up.

When I requested this book, I had no idea that it was part of a series. Now this book can be read as a standalone, but both MC’s are introduced in “Shacking Up”.

Since the heroine, Amalie, plays a very big part in that book, I did something I normally don’t do. I stopped reading this book and started “Shaking Up” first. I have to be honest and say that, reading the first book, made me enjoy “Hooking Up” more.

~Synopsis~

From the New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes a new series about three brothers, the job that calls them, and the women who challenge them.
“I hate you. I never want to see you again.”
Grant Malone is not the reason I moved back to Sunnyville—at least that’s what I tell myself. Yet, those parting words I said to him back in third grade, ring in my ears every time a townsperson brings up one of the Malone boys. I thought time had healed my wounds. I was wrong. Nothing could have prepared me for how I felt when I finally saw him again.
Twenty years does a lot to turn a boy into a man. One who hits all my buttons—sexy, funny, attractive, and a police officer. But Grant is off limits because he knows too much about my past.
But I’m drawn to him. That damn uniform of his doesn’t hurt either. It’ll be my downfall. I know it.
What’s one night of sex going to hurt . . . right?

I’ve always loved Emmy Reeves.
That’s why I’m shocked to see her all these years later. The shy girl I once knew is all grown up.
Adventurous and full of life, she owns my heart now, just as much as she did back then. Convincing her of that is a whole different story.
I’ll give her the one night she asks for—like that’s a hardship—but when it comes to letting her walk away after, she has another thing coming. There’s no way in hell I’m letting her go this time without a fight.

Apparently, Colton and Gia were introduced in “Until June”, though I have to be honest here and say that I didn’t really remember this bit of info. After finishing the prequel to this book, I just had to jump into this one right away.

I really think you should read “Flow” before you start this one. 😉 Grip and Bristol made quite an impression on me in “Flow” and I wanted to know what the author had in store for them, next.

tumblr_nhvagu2cnq1qm7cjco1_500.gif (480×270)

It has been 8 years since Grip and Bristol spend a week together.

Grip is up and coming famous rapper now and Bristol has done, what she always wanted to do. She has started managing her brother to stardom and now also manages the small record label her brother started. One of the artists, who signed with this label is….yes you guessed right…Grip. 😉

Grip and Bristol had a real special connection 8 years ago, but dishonesty and misunderstanding drove them apart. That doesn’t mean the connection is not still there. It’s still very much present. Grip has been trying to get a second shot with Bristol for 8 years now, but she has shut him down every single time.

She’s going to testify against the teenage boy she saw viciously assault a lone shifter female—and no amount of pressure from the boy’s wealthy family will make her back down. As a guest at Gwen’s inn, shifter enforcer Zander Devlin can’t help but notice that the fierce and leggy brunette is in serious trouble. Since she’s putting herself at risk for one of his kind, keeping her safe is the least he can do. That’s not the only reason Zander wants her close. My relationship with this author is a simple, yet perfect one. She writes it…and I read it. 😉

I have read every book in the “Deep in your Veins” series, the “Dark In You” series, the  “Phoenix Pack” series and of course the “The Mercury Pack” series. To say that I am a big fan of Suzanne Wright, would be an understatement.

So when I saw this baby on NetGalley, I jumped on it. 😛

Now all these books center around a different couple, so technically they could be read as a stand-alone. I would advise everyone to read this series, and the Phoenix Pack series, in order though…I am so glad I did because I really enjoyed it. Now I have to be honest here and say that I was hoping for Trick or Dominic’s story to be next, but I found out they are next in line. 😉

Doesn’t really matter anyway because all these Alpha boys are fine!!!
