I absolutely loved the writing and the banter between the main characters!!!
This is the first book in the Close Proximity, new series by Lily Morton. I enjoyed all the books I’ve read by this author and this book was no exception.

Zeb – the controlled and organized boss, who hired Jesse 3 years ago.
Jesse is everything Zeb isn’t, young and causes chaos wherever he goes. “A total walking disaster” as Zeb put it.

I can’t say I am a big fan of the fake boyfriend trope, maybe because it’s been used too much and I got bored at one point, BUT here it worked so well. The writing got me addicted, the main characters are lovable and sweet.

There are also some pretty amazing side characters and I am curious about their own stories in the next books: Felix and Max, Charlie “Sunshine” and his best friend Misha.
This book was funny and extremely hot. But we also get angst and a wonderfull sweet ending.

Overall I really loved it, but I’m not rating it with 5 stars because at one point I got a little tired by the “I’m his boss and he’s so much younger than me”, and what really felt unrealistic and well stupid would be how Zeb promised his ex to be his best man. This bugged me…I’m looking forward to reading more from this author!! I loved the writing and these sweet characters!

He looks at me and sighs wearily. “Do you think you could possibly behave?” he finally says.

I bite my lip. “I don’t think it would be entirely honest of me to promise that,” I say slowly. “Especially if people keep treating you like you’re some sort of desperate stalker. It’s not fair.” I frown. “You’re doing bloody Patrick a favour. They should be thanking you, not treating you like an unexploded bomb from the war that might go off in suburbia and wreck someone’s lavender bush.”

He blinks. “Where the hell did that come from?” He pauses. “And why am I the unexploded relic from the war?”

I smile at him sympathetically. “You have a lot of pent-up aggression,” I inform him.
