From the author of the Wicked Bay series, comes an angsty YA/NA enemies-to-lovers romance. Cocky football players, school rivalry, and the girls who get in their way. Get ready…The Raiders are coming!
Hailee Raine only has to survive one more year.
One year of life in her football obsessed town. One year of nauseating school spirit.
Just one more year of her cruel step-brother Jason; and his cocky, arrogant, football-playing friends. She hates them. Especially, Cameron Chase, the guy she thought was different.
Cameron Chase has the world at his feet.
He has it all; good looks, talent, and the charm to go with it. He has colleges lined up at the door, all wanting a piece of Rixon Raiders star wide receiver.
Until something threatens everything he’s ever worked for, and only one person can quiet the war raging inside him. But he’s supposed to hate her; his best friend’s sister.
She’s off-limits. Untouchable. She’s trouble with a capital T.
Then Hailee finds herself in the middle of a football prank gone wrong…
And suddenly hating each other never felt so good.

The Trouble with You by L.A. Cotton is the first book in The Rixon Riders series. It is told in dual POV and can be read as a standalone. For me, it had everything that I love and want in a book. It is a new adult novel, has high school drama, angst, hot football players, enemies to lovers, bullies and an A@@ole stepbrother.
It is my first time read from this author and I was hooked. The writing was perfect, the build and the story were flawless. The secondary characters were perfect. If you are a football player, and especially, a Rixon Rider, you are Royalty. You have the town at your feet, at your mercies. Especially in a town were everyone breathes football.
Hailee may seem just another ordinary teenage girl, but it’s not. She loves to paint and she just wants to finish her senior year in high school to get out of town, far away from hell. Hailee’s hell has one single name written on it: Rixon Riders. She is the only girl in town, actually, the only person in town that hates football and the Rixon Riders. Jason, Cameron, and Ash are Hailee’s nightmare. And it’s all courtesy of Jason, Hailee’s stepbrother.
It all started six years ago when Hailee’s mother moved in with Jason’s father. Jason hated her since then and he never stopped making Hailee’s life hell. At first, I thought that this is going to be a stepbrother romance…It wasn’t. But Jason plays an important part in this story.
Cameron is Jason’s best friend and his teammate. On the field they are invincible. Football player, star of high school and town, playboy, royalty in town, Cameron takes part in almost all of Jasons pranks against his stepsister, Hailee.
It’s been six years of bullying, but now, Hailee is hard as a rock. Nothing and no one can break her anymore. She wants revenge, but she is tired of fighting. She wants to back down, she wants to have pace, but she is scared to trust Jason or his friends and their actions…But fate has other plans. The only one who can break her, is Cameron. Will he succeed, or he will kneel in front of her?
Hailee was brave, smart, talented, fierce, sassy, but also sweet and vulnerable. Cameron was cocky, smug, arrogant a@@ole, but he was also sweet and vulnerable…They were perfect for each other.
I must say that I was expecting it to be a dark story, but I hope Jason’s story gets there. I can’t wait! I love Cameron and Hailee, they were awesome together, sweet and hot, but I have a soft spot for Jason.😍
I highly recommend this book! 💓
