From New York Times Bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes the second standalone book in the Everyday Heroes series. Just how hot will firefighter Grady Malone turn up the heat?
Songwriter Dylan McCoy has been burned.
By her boyfriend, she found in her bed . . . with someone else.
By the contract, she signed that obligates her to work with him until the songs for his new album are complete.
By her agent when she asked Dylan to keep their breakup on the down-low.
When she finds herself in Sunnyville, she refuses to let her new roommate burn her too. Still . . . a rebound has never looked so good.
That’s her first thought when she sees firefighter Grady Malone.
Sexy. Charismatic. Unapologetic. He’s a man who carries his own scars—the ones on his back, the survivor’s guilt on his soul, and the fear in his heart.
When an unexpected visitor puts their roommate status to the test, will their undeniable attraction burn out, or will they both take a chance and play with fire?
The first book in this series, “Cuffed” was about hot cop Grant Malone. I really enjoyed his’s story, but I was very much looking forward to reading about his brothers…medevac pilot Greyson and firefighter Grady as well…This one is Grady’s story and boy was it HOT…And in this case, the firefighter was the cause of the flames! Damn the mouth on that man!!
When Grady and Grayson were introduced in the previous book, I loved both of them right away. My love for Grady only grew bigger and bigger the more I read.
Grady’s past is pretty heartbreaking. Reading about what he had been through, broke my heart. He carries a lot of scars…some you can see and some that are hidden inside. So I was very happy when Dylan walked into his life…Dylan was a great heroine!! I loved her, she was funny, sweet, tough and a bit self-conscious about her body, which only made me love her more.
Dylan recently walked in on her famous rockstar boyfriend having sex with someone else…The fact that the girl in question was model gorgeous, isn’t really a boost for Dylan’s ego. What’s even more worrisome, is that Dylan is obligated by contract to still write songs for her now ex-boyfriend…She needs the money, so she needs to find a place to retreat and get her act together.
Now, this is where her brother’s friend Grady comes in. He has no problem helping his friend’s sister out, and so she temporarily moves into his guestroom in Sunnyville. They immediately hit it off, and it soon becomes pretty clear, that they are also extremely attracted to each other. So why not take advantage?
Well…Dylan is leaving in a couple of weeks and Grady has made it more than clear he doesn’t want a relationship. But…they both need the distraction and they both want to feel good. Why not have some fun and make each other feel good, they can keep their heart out of it…right!?
By now we all know, that the heart wants what it wants !!! No point in fighting the inevitable. They always do though…These two were an awesome match and I loved how they slowly healed each other…
This story is not just about love…It’s also about overcoming your fears. Courage does not mean the absence of fear…but the mastery of it.
I highly recommend this story… 💕
I myself can’t wait to find out, which girl is gonna sweep single dad and medevac pilot Grayson off his feet!!
