Sam Landon is a homeless eighteen-year-old thief who is desperate for a different life. When his skills attract the attention of the Secret Intelligence Service, Sam eagerly grabs the chance.
Sam’s determined to prove himself when he gets his first mission–to steal a flash drive from a paranoid crime lord–and is sent undercover as another agent’s sugar baby.
Dominic Bommer, his “sugar daddy,” is outrageously handsome, charming, rich, and pretty much perfect. Dominic is kind, generous, and protective of him.
Except “Dominic Bommer” is nothing but a role performed by a cynical MI6 agent, who is actually straight, aloof, and manipulative.
Sam is perfectly aware that everything Dominic does is carefully calculated, every emotion faked. He knows that men actually do nothing for Dominic and he doesn’t really want Sam.
But despite knowing all of this, Sam still finds himself falling hard for a man who doesn’t exist.
Or does he?
I am a huge fan of this series…
And, except for Gabriel’s book, I loved every single one of them. Reading the blurb got me very curious to see where Alessandra was going with this one.
Sam is a 18 year old “master” thief, living with a gang. His stealing buys him the protection he needs. Sam has been homeless for a very very long time. He ran away from home when he was just a little boy. This felt a bit unbelievable to me…but I just went with it.
Dominic is a 27 year old agent for MI6, he’s agent 11 to be precise. He has been with MI6 for some time now. He is one of the best agents they have and he’s known for impeccable skills.
MI6 is working on a new mission and for this mission, they are gonna need someone to “play” sugar baby, for one of their agents. They aren’t looking for just anybody though…this person also needs to have mad thieving skills, since he will have to steal a very important USB stick. Guess who got lucky enough to be recruited by MI6??
Sam doesn’t have many options in his life and when MI6 makes him an offer, he knows he can’t refuse. Especially when this offer also comes with one HOT as sin agent pretending to be his “sugar daddy”. They train him for a couple of weeks and then he is ready to go…These two have to take things pretty far for their mission, and Sam doesn’t know how much longer he can keep his heart safe.
Dominic really is Sam’s “dream come true”.
The only problem here is that Dominic is straight. Sure he has pretended to be gay many times already for his job…but everyone at MI6 knows that Dominic doesn’t like seducing a male target…So why is Dominic so drawn to Sam…why can’t he keep his hands to himself and why does he feel so damn protective of this “boy”…“his boy”.
I really enjoyed reading this one, but I do have to say that I really had to suspend my disbelief.
A lot of this book was “over the top” and ridiculous, but I still really enjoyed reading it. I liked both characters and even though things were quite unrealistic at times, I was really rooting for the two of them. So if you can set aside your believes and just go with it, like I did…
I think you should give this one a shot !! I am sure glad I did. 😉
I am also very curious to see what this author has in store for us next…
