~Synopsis~

Sometimes the best day of your life is the one you never saw coming.
Joe Cohen has devoted the past two years of his life to one thing: the care and feeding of Kade Bosa. His partner in their PI business, roommate, and best friend, Kade is everything to Joe, even if their relationship falls short of what Joe desires most. But he won’t push. Kade has suffered a rough road, and Joe’s pretty sure he’s the only thing holding Kade together.
Estranged from his own family, Joe knows the value of desperately holding on to someone dear, but he never expected his present and past to collide just as Kade’s is doing the same. Now they’ve stumbled across evidence that could change their lives: the impact of Kade’s tragic past, their job partnership, and any future Joe might allow himself to wish for…

I am not a big fan of short stories, to be honest, but if there is one author, I would gladly make an exception for, it’s Mary!!

I don’t care how long it is, I will read whatever she writes down. 😉

~Pre-Release Review~Gemini Keeps Capricorn (Signs of Love #3) by Anyta Sunday~

36609734Title: Gemini Keeps Capricorn
Author: Anyta Sunday
Series: Signs of Love #3
Page Count: 281 pages
Genre(s): M/M, Contemporary Romance
Release Date: December 18, 2017
Reviewer: ~Wendy~
Rating: 4 Stars out of 5

~Synopsis~

Sometimes, one stubborn Capricorn is all it takes… to drive Wesley Hidaka to crazy, flirtatious lengths.
Wesley loves annoying his RA Lloyd Reynolds. He just can’t help it. Lloyd is focused, decisive, grounded. He has this amusing ability to follow rules. Of course Wesley wants Lloyd to break one… or three hundred.
Sometimes, one smirking Gemini is all it takes… to have Lloyd laying down the law and marching Wesley straight back to his dorm room.
It doesn’t stop Wesley teasing again. And again. And again . . . But damn. Lloyd doesn’t crack easily. He’s full of principles. He’s unshakable. He’s the perfect friend to have when Wesley needs help. Like with his truant brother and his old high school principal.
Sometimes, one little lie is all it takes…to find Wesley fake-engaged to his off-limits RA.
What can he say? It seemed like a good idea at the time . . .
“Gemini Keeps Capricorn” serves up a double shot of cluelessness, with a side of rock’n’roll and topped with a slow burn HEA. It can be read as a standalone.

This is the third book in this series, and so far I have loved every single one… this one included. 😉

One thing is for sure though. Anyta is the queen of slow burn, and when I say slow…I do mean sloooooow. 😀

slow-down-o.gif (320×200)

Normally I am not a real big fan of the “extreme” slow burn, but for some reason, this never bothers me as much, when reading one of Anyta’s books. I still got frustrated at times though…Anyways, this book is about Wesley and Lloyd. They have known each other for some years and have become really close friends. Where Wesley is all about the fun and games, Lloyd is all about the rules.

I love a good “opposites attract” story! 😛

Shackled to a life that is anything but picture-perfect, Cassie is slowly sinking into a nightmare of her own making. When a temporary job assignment takes her to Alaska, she never imagines that the cocky, hazel-eyed Talon Murdock is the man who can set her free. With his long hair, tattoos and irresistible body, Talon is everything she should avoid. But his unapologetic passion for life might be the very thing she needs. Will the secrets of her past destroy any chance of happiness, or will Cassie find the courage to love again and the ability to forgive the one person who needs it most?

After reading the other two books of the author, Facking it with Damian and Falling for Dante, I wanted to read this one too.

Boy, what a cover for this book. Dayyyuuummnnn. The cover is perfect. Synchronize to perfection with the book. I really enjoyed this book. Usually, I’m not into so many details, but as much as I despise the details, in this case, I even googled them. I savored every detail. I’m fascinated about Alaska. It was amazing. The writing was smooth and very good. I felt the chemistry and the attraction between the two characters. The shivers from their first meeting.

~Synopsis~

Simon had always expected love to feel different than this. Whether it was his Catholic upbringing or the poetry he’d read—Simon had thought that true love would be uplifting, fulfilling, that it would give a meaning to his loitering, and add joy to his leisure. But not this kind of love. This love was a flesh-eating monster, sharp-clawed and evil-eyed, ravishing his mind with medieval cruelty.
Dr. Simon Mráz is a respected specialist and lecturer at the Charles University in Prague. He is a serious man, responsible. His students call him The Cruel Doctor Frost not because he’s unkind, but because of his unwavering, ice-cold composure. As a psychiatrist, he values sanity. And sanity can be found in work, restraint, and self-control.
Not many know of that one time in the past when The Cruel Doctor Frost lost his cool. His ill-advised, secret affair with a student left Simon deeply wounded. Since that day, every minute of Simon’s life has been a struggle to remain sane, functioning. He’s managed so far—as long as he is needed, as long as his work makes a difference, Simon can scrape together enough strength to get up in the morning and run off the nightmares. But when his friends begin drifting away, his beloved protégé becomes independent, and the man who bereaved Simon of his precious sanity might return… Simon’s mind and body stop responding to his impressive willpower.

I’ve got to say Roe Horvat can do no wrong as far as I’m concerned.

A lot more angsty than previous books but totally up my street. As usual, the writing and storytelling are superb…You get a brief introduction to Matej and his thoughts at the beginning of the story. A beautiful, enigmatic student who seems to have set his sights on a certain Lecturer, Dr. Simon Mraz.
Fast forward a few years and the story continues from Simon’s pov and for about half the book Matej remains someone only in Simon’s thoughts.

I never ever read anthologies and to be honest, I didn’t even know this was one when I signed up for it. All I knew, was that L.J. Shen wrote “The End Zone”, and I just had to read it!!
