Psychic Emory Jackson and former black ops specialist Jonathon Silver are men from two completely different worlds with one thing in common: heartbreak. Emory still mourns the loss of his husband five years prior, and Jon is reeling with grief from the recent death of his twin brother.
Sparks fly when mutual friends introduce them, but it’s so much more than basic attraction. There’s an undeniable awareness and a sense of belonging that neither man can deny. Despite Emory’s premonition of a future with Jon, he has vowed never to love again. Jon is convinced that his tainted soul is the reason he will never have someone to call his own. What if they’re both wrong?
Maybe these broken men with their jagged edges could somehow align perfectly to form something whole and beautiful. But will that realization come too late for them?
Someone to Call My Own is the second book in the Road to Blissville series. These books can be read as standalone or as part of the series. The author first introduced these characters in the Curl Up and Dye Mysteries, but it isn’t necessary to read that series first. This book contains sexually explicit material and is intended for adults 18 and older.

Title: Hate to Love You
Page Count: 400 pages
Release Date: August 26, 2017
Genre(s): Contemporary Romance, New Adult & College
Rating: 3.5 Stars out of 5
Rule #1: No hot guys.
It might sound ridiculous. I get it. It kind of was, but college was supposed to be my sanctuary. It was my place to start over. The rumors, the whispers, and the jealousy I endured through high school would all be gone.
No one would know me at college.
Rule #2: No drama.
I’d major in pre-law. I’d make a few loyal friends. Everything would be easy-breezy. No one was going to use me or hurt me. I wouldn’t let them.
Rule #3: New year. New place. New me.
And all because of Shay Coleman.
Football captain and quarterback, he was the big guy on campus. The cocky guy in my political science class with a smirk.
I hated him on sight . . .
. . . and he was about to break all my rules.
Hate To Love You is a full-length standalone.
There are elements that deal with the dark side of college.
I have been binge reading the “Fallen Crest” series and when I was done…I didn’t want it to be done ;). So I figured, why stop here, why not continue on my “Tijan” streak. 😛
Now I have to say…I really enjoyed reading “Hate to love you”…
But I am gonna be honest here and also say that, even though Kennedy and Shay were great, they were no Sam and Mason. This is probably because Sam and Mason have like 7 books centered around them, so I got to know them really well and I came to see them as a family of sorts.
Kennedy and Shay only have this one book, so things moved a bit faster between the two of them. Now, I am not a real big fan of insta-love but then again…this is college and I have a vague memory of things moving a lot faster when you are younger. 😛
