~Blurb~

Six years ago Ellis walked into his first briefing as the newest member of London’s Specialist Firearms Unit. He was partnered with Wayne and they became fast friends. When Wayne begins to notice changes—Ellis’s erratic temper, the effects of sleep deprivation—he knows he has to act before Ellis reaches his breaking point. He invites Ellis to the opening of the new BDSM club, Secrets, where Wayne has a membership. His purpose? He wants Ellis to glimpse the lifestyle before Wayne approaches him with a proposition. He wants to take Ellis in hand, to control his life because he wants his friend back, and he figures this is the only way to do it.

There are a few issues, however. Ellis is straight. Stubborn. And sexy. Wayne knows he has to put his own feelings aside to be what Ellis needs. What surprises the hell out of him is finding out what Ellis actually requires.

~About Authors~

Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C. WELLS always loved writing. Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way. K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, when the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative. An even bigger discovery waited in the wings—writing about men in love was even hotter….

K.C. now writes full-time and is loving every minute of her new career. The laptop still has no idea of what hit it… it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.

And as for those men in love that she writes about? The list of stories just waiting to be written is getting longer… and longer….

K.C. loves to hear from readers.

Happily Ever After Comes With A Pricetag. Parker Williams began to write as a teen, but never showed his work to anyone. As he grew older, he drifted away from writing, but his love of the written word moved him to reading. A chance encounter with an author changed the course of his life as she encouraged him to never give up on a dream. With the help of some amazing friends, he rediscovered the joy of writing, thanks to a community of writers who have become his family. Parker firmly believes in love, but is also of the opinion that anything worth having requires work and sacrifice (plus a little hurt and angst, too). The course of love is never a smooth one, and Happily Ever After always has a price tag.

A clash of wills between predators…

He’s been living underground for a long time, but the only thing guaranteed to bring Daniel Nieto back to the surface is the identity of his wife’s killer. With the whisper of one name, he puts it all on the line for vengeance. He’s got plans for Stavros Konstantinou.

The title of monster fits too well for Stavros to want to be anything other than what he is. Time spent in Daniel Nieto’s dungeon, chained and tortured, will never change that. Starved of food, sunlight, and freedom, he waits for an opening to turn the tables on the only man who’s ever come close enough to scare him.

Somewhere between the slide of knife against skin, and the drip of blood on cold concrete, things change. Grief and hatred collide with lust and obsession, and this time Daniel and Stavros are on the same side. This time, they’re fighting a losing battle against a connection forged by much more than a love of violence and bloodshed.
In a war this bloodied, what do you do when the bodies start hitting the floor?

**Warning: Gun play, knife play, blood play, breath play. Non Con, Dub Con. Water sports. Triggers**

This book is Captivating, Dark, Violent, Intense!

Enemies to lovers, the feelings these two men had for each other took my breath away. This book took me completely by surprise and once I got into it, I couldn’t put it down.

“Something happened when they got in the same room. When their eyes met. When they breathed the same air. A dangerously potent something.”

Daniel Nieto has been waiting and waiting to avenge the death of his wife and when the time is right he’s determined to make Stavros Konstantinou suffer.

So many things that I loved about this book…

-A clash of wills, an attraction so powerful that both men were powerless to resist…

“Your touch kills me,” Daniel confessed through the thickness in his throat. “It’s the sweetest murder, and I want it again and again.”

The Mafia plot was concise and didn’t overpower the story.

Daniel’s feelings about his dead wife were extremely well portrayed as he battled with guilt over his attraction to Stavros.

“They were connected, he and Stavros. Connected by blood, by death. By guilt and betrayal too. But also by this crazy unexplainable and emotional need they had to be near each other. Touch each other. Taste each other.”

The Sex scenes…these two are passionate, intense, dirty, and loving…these are definitely some of the best sex scenes I’ve read.

You’ll fall in love with Daniel and Stavros, I’m sure.

Highly Recommended!imageedit_27_3195715136

~Blurb~

My job is to save lives. But what if the one that needs saving is the one I was sent to take?
At 33 years old, Phoenix Jones once had a stellar military career ahead of him. But when tragedy struck his family, he walked away from the path he’d chosen to be there for the one who needed him most. Except fate is a bitch and when she once again takes Phoenix’s future in the cruelest of ways, he must find a new path.
When a former army buddy introduces him to Ronan Grisham, the leader of an underground vigilante group, Phoenix knows he’s found a new family and nothing and no one is going to take that from him again. So when Ronan asks him to shadow a young man who participated in a brutal crime against Ronan’s husband, Seth, when he was a child and appears to be targeting him again, Phoenix doesn’t even hesitate for a second.
Even knowing what he must do if the young man proves to have gone back to his old ways.
Because family is everything…
I can’t come back from what I did. I’m not sure I even want to…
An ugly childhood left Levi Deming with little to do but dream of a day when he’d be free of his tormenters so he could carve out a simple life for himself, preferably somewhere far away from the family who never let him forget he was less than human. But one terrible choice at the tender age of 16 changed everything…
Wracked with guilt for the role he played during a home invasion gone horribly wrong, a now 24-year-old Levi is trying to piece together a life where he can maybe do a little bit of good, even knowing it won’t make up for the lives he helped take and it definitely won’t give back the future he stole from the young man whose agonized screams still haunt him night after night. If it were only about him, he’d walk into the nearest police station and happily tell them to lock him up and throw away the key.
But it isn’t just about him anymore…
I expected to find a hardened criminal. What I found was something else entirely…
With Ronan’s orders to terminate young Levi if he so much as even jaywalks, Phoenix expects an easy job with one clear outcome. But when a violent encounter forces Phoenix to interact with Levi, he quickly realizes the case might not be as black and white as he thought. Instead of finding a criminal with no conscience, Phoenix discovers a young man battling impossible odds and near crippling guilt.
When his feelings of disgust and anger begin to fade and turn into something else, the would-be hitman is forced to make a terrible decision between the family he needs and the young man more intent on seeking judgement than redemption.

Well, this was another heartbreaking yet beautiful story by one of my favorite mm authors.

Those of you, who are familiar with Sloane Kennedy’s books, know that she doesn’t pull any punches. Those of you who haven’t read her books before…are most likely living under a rock and missing out big time !!!

don't_miss_out_goat.png (239×207):

I am joking though, not about the missing out part, but the rock part. 😛 If you haven’t read her books before, please take note of the trigger warning, this book deals with some heavy subjects.

It is hard writing a review for this book without any spoilers so I won’t go into the storyline too much…

Levi and Phoenix both have a heartbreaking past, but Levi’s especially was horrifying. To read what he went through and how he turned out to be as a man…yeah, he definitely earned my respect. Even though life has let him down time and again, he still tried to be the best person he could be…..seeking some kind of redemption for the hurt he has caused others in the past. Hurt he couldn’t have stopped, even if wanted to so badly.

FOTO BEWERKEN - makkelijk online je foto's bewerken of aanpassen:

Phoenix was the perfect man for Levi. Caring, comforting, patient and loving.I also want to give some extra credit to Seth… Without him, things may have ended very differently….The steam factor in this one isn’t as high as it was in some of the other books, which was very understandable, considering the subject matters.

It was very sweet and loving though…

Now I myself can’t wait for the next book.

I have been wanting to know more about Vincent, ever since he was introduced in Cain’s book and it looks like my wish is being granted in the next “Protectors” book!!!imageedit_36_4496991228

Daniel Nieto (49) has been feeling dead since his wife was murdered by Stavros Konstantinou (42). Vengeance was what kept him going and so, he carefully planned a payback. The right moment came. Stavros was made captive and tortured for 2 weeks.

Free Online Image Editor

So far, so good. No surprises. We have all read the blurb and expected that, right?Wrong. Because at some point Daniel’s plan failed big time.Daniel expected Stavros to break, to crack under the force of his torture. Stavros was having none of it.

“I missed you, Nieto” He licked the blood off his bottom lip. It is so m-much fun wh-when you are here.”

Insolent, defiant, provocative…

“I’m, uh-” Stavros cleared his throat.
“I’m not really the screaming type, lo siento.”

Daniel found Stavros fascinating…Then, the unexpected happened.

Stavros Konstantinou touched Daniel Nieto and breathed new life into his numb body. Grief and hatred collide with lust and obsession.

Now, let me drop my two cents:
As a ahem connoisseur of dark reads, I’ve been finding it quite tricky to come across a winner in this genre, where the balance between darkness and plausibility didn’t cross the line of absurdity.

Some are too incredible to take seriously, others don’t give us enough depth to connect with the characters aiming shock value and so on… Therefore, I do appreciate when a story gives me it all.

The synopsis of Call the Coroner shows darkness. The warning triggers are very clear.

Still, I don’t think the person who reads this blurb can grasp the full idea of what she is getting into, mainly because the emotions hidden between the lines is what really causes a massive impression. Totally unexpected.

Emotions as hate, anger, want, lust, guilt, and passion are trowed together in a turmoil of events. This vortex of feelings escalates even more when added to forbidden sex, drenched in blood and betrayal.

The result of it is an intense story. Violent. Consuming.

I have to say it took me a while to get into it, precisely 25%, just in case someone feels like giving up before crossing this mark,  I was intrigued enough to carry on though.

All I could think of was: how can something good come out of this?

So.Much.Blood. So much pain, torture, blame, and darkness. How the author will play this out? Will I have to suspend belief?
Well, who bloody cares? From the 25% mark, I had no time to think about that anymore. A good sign, right? I was entranced with Daniel and Stavros, mesmerized by the story line and a few occasions gobsmacked by it.
The slow build of forbidden, dark and sinful attitudes/elements drove me crazy. Torture, was at times obscene foreplay. The sex scenes were off the charts. They love making was violent, dirty and consuming…

To be followed later by love, unapologetic.

Two minor niggles:
1.) The ambush: why the hell they went downstairs so careless after hearing that blasting noise. They knew Daniel’s head was being hunted. Duh!
2.) Annika: I didn’t get why she was part of this story. I could have give it a pass. Easily.

Call the Coroner was beyond my expectations.I’ll round it up because I think it totally deserves…LOVED IT!

This book is a spin-off of the Collars & Cuffs series, which I am ashamed to say…I have not read yet …hangs head in shame.

Shame GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

The reason for this is that I am just not a real big fan of BDSM. Not that I mind it, it’s just that it has to be written a certain way, for me to really enjoy it.Wayne and Ellis are friends and partners on the job (London’s Specialist Firearms unit).

Wayne is gay…and also a Dom. Ellis has only been with women.

Lately, Ellis hasn’t been doing so well, due to several circumstant stances (read a very messed up family) and he seems to be on the verge of some kind of breakdown. Wayne, who secretly has a thing for his friend, is very worried, but he thinks he has a solution for Ellis’ state of mind.

He takes Ellis to a BDSM club. He thinks if Ellis would just submit, he could let go of everything else and free his mind.

Now I had to suspend my disbelief a little right here because I would think, that when you are on a downward spiral and you are about to fall apart…maybe talking to a therapist or something would be better, but then again…I don’t know shit about BDSM.

Also, this is a book and not real life…so…

DeRZw_s-200x150.gif (200×150)

As it turns out, Ellis is indeed a sub, but accepting this fact…now that’s a much different story. Ellis has always been raised a certain way. The man is supposed to be the strong one…the one taking care of everything, and submitting…won’t that make him weak?

don_t_show_weakness__don_t_get_burned__by_tangledtabby876-d6eluuw.gif (720×720)

Also, he is supposed to be straight….right?

To say that Ellis’ family was messed up is putting it very lightly. His parents especially were horrible.

Now the question is…will Ellis submit to Wayne, and will Wayne finally be able to show his friend how much he really cares for him.

f994238d73d7c52748d767d8f7acc3cb.jpg (480×444):

I enjoyed reading this book, but…I had a bit of a hard time with how Ellis was introduced into the world of BDSM. It just felt a bit forced to me. Wayne just came in and took over everything and that’s probably what a Dom is supposed to do, but it made me a bit uncomfortable. I also had a hard time with Ellis just taking all the crap his family fed him all those years.

Still…I could see these men cared a lot about each other and I think BDSM fans will love this one.imageedit_44_8150275859
