Truth and lies.
Captain Jamie Callahan knows the Metahuman Defense Force frowns on fraternization. For once in his life, he’s breaking all the rules. Having Staff Sergeant Kyle Brannigan on his team and in his bed is worth the risk of being found out. When a mission comes down requiring Alpha Team to go undercover in order to infiltrate a criminal alliance, Jamie knows it won’t be easy. Putting his family’s name on the line is nothing compared to the role the MDF wants him to play—that of a billionaire’s son, discharged from the military, with a lover on his arm, looking to make his own shady business deals.
Dirty little secret.
Kyle knows the only way to be with Jamie is to hide their relationship from their superiors. Waking up to Jamie at home is more important than being together in public, or so Kyle thought, until he comes face to face with what he’s been missing. Pretending to be a couple on paper for the sake of the mission thrusts Kyle into a world of incredible wealth and a social status he’s not sure he belongs in, but he’ll do anything to stay by Jamie’s side.
Play the game to win.
Surrounded by the enemy, Jamie and Kyle need to trust each other now more than ever. Their covers—and the life they’re trying to build together—depend on it.

In the Ruins is a 105k word steamy gay sci-fi military romance with a HFN ending that skirts HEA. There is military violence within the story that may not be suitable for everyone, as well as explicit intimate scenes not suitable for readers under the age of 18. This is a sequel to In the Wreckage and reading the first book in the series would be helpful in enjoying this one.

After reading book 1 not too long ago, I could not wait to jump into this one.

This series marks my first time,  into the world of Sci-fi, and even though I have seen some awesome sci-fi movies in my life…reading this genre somehow never happened. Thank you, Hailey Turner, for opening my eyes to a whole new (book) world. 😛

Cd7ovXd.gif (400×240)

First off, these books should not be read as standalone, this is a series and if you want to read book 2, you will have to start with book 1 “In the Wreckage”…

Which was also awesome!!

tumblr_lkdxkvZqdK1qb0wfxo1_1280.jpg (567×340):

Those of you who have read book 1, already know all about Metahumans, what they are and how they came to be. For those of you who haven’t…I will quote my own review of book 1….

“Metahumans are humans, that have been exposed to Splice, a certain chemical that is supposed to kill everyone who comes in contact with it. Somehow, certain people are able to survive this chemical, instead of getting killed, they turn into some sort of superhuman with super powers.”

Like I said in my review of book 1, it’s like a cross between “Thirds” and “X-Men”. 😀

Jamie and Kyle got together in book 1 and so far, 6 months later, they are still going strong.

348e4efa63e28d9fc85487aee219904b.jpg (236×354):    47ca64eefe11eb2c63c887015944b4e8.jpg (236×330):

The only problem they have, as far as their relationship goes, is that Jamie is Kyle’s superior and therefore, the two of them are breaking the Metahuman Defense Force fraternization rule. Neither of them is ready to give up their job, so keeping things a secret is the only way to go.

“I don’t regret a single decision I’ve made when it comes to you. Maybe it’s not the right decision from a command point of view, but I’m not willing to give you up”

e45043f2cadff4b163b2c99827bf7fbf.jpg (500×420):

When the team goes on a new mission, and Jamie and Kyle have to “pretend” to be a couple, both men come to realize what they are missing…Kyle also comes face with the fact that he and Jamie are from very different worlds, which causes some self-doubt on his part.Their feelings for each other, get stronger every day…

How much longer will they be able to keep going on like this?

tumblr_lpoo4tfP7y1qeyu8fo1_500.gif (500×212)

I am not going into the plot more than this. I want everyone to enjoy this book without any major spoilers. I will say though, for those who are wondering, that these boys are still very very HOT together…and a bit kinky…

“Some days I can’t get enough of how much you like getting fucked.”

tumblr_nxubp3zx8m1te42yzo1_500.gif (500×255)

As much as I loved Jamie and Kyle, this book isn’t just about the two of them. It’s about their whole team….and what an awesome team this is. They are like a family.  There is also an introduction to an MDF member we haven’t met before and I have high hopes, that he will be a part of this little family in the future. I also would really like to have a story about Alexei, because he has been one of my favorites since book 1.

Fingers crossed. 😛

JS_FingersCrossed.gif (256×256)

This book ends on a HFN, so I am pretty sure, there will be more about Jamie and Kyle in the near future.

Hopefully, the wait won’t be too long. 😀imageedit_44_8150275859

In the Ruins (Metahuman Files #2) by Hailey Turner

Entertainment at its best!!!

Alpha Team was the bullet, even if someone else was pulling the trigger, and they couldn’t ever escape that.

https://i0.wp.com/25.media.tumblr.com/5ff23d2df3f0092303c57e8bc75e8c04/tumblr_mpoutkajnM1qlym8ko1_500.gif

Jamie Callahan’s team of Metahumans with enhanced abilities – well, it spoils nothing to say that they have certain superpowers – has to keep that in mind when their new mission sends them undercover right in the public eye, so as to nose out a Russian terrorist group intent on preying on wealthy citizens with shady morals. Especially Jamie has to play both sides of the fence and gambles for high stakes since it is not only his reputation on the line but also the one of those who is close to him. He is forced to walk a tightrope and has to rely on his team, other organizations and friends more than once to wriggle out of precarious situations in order not to compromise his family and still get the job done.

The only thing that helps him stay in control is the fact that Kyle Brannigan, his secret lover, is also part of the cover and for once they don’t have to hide their relationship in public, if only for show. When more players enter the game, there is more at stake than just his high renown and the whole team has to refer to all their resources and powers to hold the upper hand.

Wow, just wow! Hailey Turner did it again!!!

After only the second installment to In the Wreckage, this series went straight onto my top-ten list of favorites and she proved to me that the first book was not just some kind of one-hit wonder. Not that I ever had any doubts about it, but still I’m glad to see that I was right.

This book and the whole series is so right up my alley and I don’t even know where to start to explain why, so let’s just say that the world building is so unique and well-conceived that I once again got totally engrossed in the story right from the beginning. On the one hand, I could not put my Kindle down and on the other hand, I had to read slowly in order not to miss anything important because of the complex storyline, right down to the last detail.

Another aspect that made me enjoy this book so much is the dynamics between each and every team member.

No, scratch that, they are not only a team, they are family. The snark and banter made me laugh out loud, but when it comes down to it they stand up for each other no matter what and everyone has a role to play. An important role. In this story the team got a new addition in form of former CIA Agent Sean Delaney and boy, do I want to see more of him in the future!!! I daresay that he and a certain moody Russian team member – yes. Alexei, it is you I’m talking about – might become more than just colleagues, all animosity aside, and for me, some kind of enemies to lovers trope would spice up the story even more.

What I loved the most, though, was the development of Jamie and Kyle’s love for each other. Their feelings are getting stronger and stronger by the minute and even if their mission reveals more and more the difference in their social background and raises some kind of self-doubt and misgivings about the continuation of their relationship, Jamie is determined to make it happen against all odds – against the non-fraternization policy of the organization they both are working for and against the outbreak of hostilities from the part of his family – and he always finds the right words to alleviate Kyle’s qualms.

https://images.gr-assets.com/hostedimages/1453430454ra/17826297.gif

“I love you and I will always fight for you,” Jamie told him, meaning it more than he’d ever meant anything in his life.

When I started to read the book I was prepared for all eventualities, meaning I stocked up on chocolate and coffee, committed my cat to cuddle duties (of course, he was over the hills and far away when I needed him) and had my notepad with the names and functions of all team members I wrote down while reading the first book at the ready, but I completely forgot about one thing: to retrieve the fan out of the basement. I should have known better! Damn, those sex scenes…

The terms “hot and kinky” do not come anywhere close to describe them.

This is everything

The ending felt more like a HFN for Jamie and Kyle, but thank goodness, the next book is already in the works. I would love nothing better than to beg the author to hurry up because I so cannot wait to get back to this universe and see where the story goes from here since the case is equally anything but solved.

Highly recommended!imageedit_44_8150275859

In the Ruins (Metahuman Files #2) by Hailey Turner

imageedit_44_8150275859

Hailey Turner has done a terrific job creating this universe and with “In the Ruins“, the second installment of the  Metahumans Files, she achieves something incredible: maintain the reader interested in her amazing world. Well, not really. We are not talking here about just keep the interest of the reader. Probably the terrific plot and the characters development make book 2 better than “In the Wreckage“. This is another gem and a very shiny one, I must say.

In the Ruins starts a few moths after the last scene in book one, and directly into action.

Our heroes have been together nearly seven months and still hiding their relationship. In this book, we have the chance to witness how their physical connexion develops in something bigger, sweeter, deeper.

And the intimacy between them?

The plot in this second book is an undercover mission, using our incredible and wealthy guy… oh, please, Wait… this description sucks, I should say Jaime is incredible, wealthy, loyal, unselfish, bossy in bed, awesome as the team leader and absolutely generous with their friends.

He is such a good guy, not just a rich, honorable and hot man. And I love him!

“Because my life -my privileged, stupid life, Katie- shouldn’t be worth more than the hundreds of people who are being used as test subjects and killed by criminals who won´t stop even if I do”

And I have to say the plot and the mission itself are brilliantly constructed and developed. It’s not just science fiction, this book has a great dose of thriller and a fantastic espionage basis. I really enjoyed the story line.

The other side of this undercover mission, the love story part, Kyle’s insecurities… I don’t want to say anything about it. You must read this book! That’s the way you should find out how perfect this story is. Well, first you have to start with “In the Wreckage” since this series can’t be conceived as standalone novels. And after that, enjoy this second and great installment.

These books are amazing!

I have to do a special mention here since I didn’t in my review of book one: The girls in the alpha team are fantastic. They are funny, brave, bad-ass and really smart. Yes, they are! And they were that smart before becoming Metahumans, it’s not a superpower, promise! 😀 (read the sentence with all the irony it’s charged with).

It’s refreshing to read some great female characters in M/M books and I really loved the interactions among the team. Male and female. The characters are perfectly delimited and deep enough to make the reader care about them. In fact, I wouldn’t mind reading about Alexei a little more. He speaks English like I do, high five Alexei!

The bets, the banter, the funny dialogues, the deep ones… Everything Alpha Team related is terrific. All of it is super entertaining. And the new additions are awesome too and I want more…

Everyone is going to want more… I have no doubt.

The way Hailey Turner describes this futuristic society is very appealing and addictive.
This is Sci-Fi suspense at its best.

A highly recommended book for all those readers who enjoys action, great dialogues, some good thriller and smoking hot characters.imageedit_44_8150275859

A Marine with honor.
After surviving a horrific chemical attack that turned him into a metahuman, Captain Jamie Callahan got a second lease on life. For three years he’s been working for the Metahuman Defense Force and leading Alpha Team—all against the wishes of his family. The job requires his full dedication, so it’s no surprise Jamie doesn’t have time for a relationship. An enticing one-night stand with a gorgeous stranger is all it takes to show Jamie exactly what he’s been missing. When a mission to take down a terrorist cell brings that same stranger back into his world, Jamie’s life gets complicated.
A soldier with secrets.
Staff Sergeant Kyle Brannigan was only looking to relieve some stress after a long mission. He didn’t know the hot guy he picked up at a bar was the leader of the MDF’s top field team. When Kyle and his partner get seconded to Alpha Team to help fight a terrorist threat, he has to balance his desire for Jamie against his duty to keep his secrets safe. That gets harder and harder to do amidst regulations both are tempted to break.
Two men trying to survive.
Giving into passion could cost both their careers. Abiding by the rules will only result in heartache. An attack on MDF headquarters brings with it a choice Jamie and Kyle can’t escape—duty, or love?

In the Wreckage is a 100k word steamy m/m sci-fi military romance with a HFN ending. There is military violence within the story that may not be suitable for everyone, as well as explicit intimate scenes not suitable for readers under 18.

What an awesome read! What a great recommendation!

How can a book be so entertaining, suspenseful and dirty at the same time? This is a good one. Believe me. It has everything you want in a Science Fiction book, with the add of some of the dirtiest sex scenes I’ve ever read. Yes. Everything.

This is a perfectly written MM Romance. A Sci-Fi novel that takes place on an alternative and very fascinating year 2284.
The world building is fantastic but I don’t want to reveal too much, just that something happened that turned some humans in metahumans with different powers: telepathy, telekinesis, shapeshifting, ultra strength…

Science fiction fans (myself included) are used to ordinary men becoming superheroes because of radioactive accidents, chemical, or nuclear physics related. We have read about that kind of DNA alteration, wherever it comes, but here the explanation is brilliantly exposed. It’s very, very interesting and perfectly settled and, I insist, the world building is extremely well done and appealing.

Apollo, Icarus, Bones, Reaper, Inferno… Are some of their code names. Are they cool, or what? These guys rocks!

I’m not an action girl. Ironically, action bored me to dead if it lacks another necessary thing (necessary to me, I mean, there is nothing wrong in the action itself). But the way these guys work together is hot and entertaining as hell. I enjoyed it so much I can’t put it in words.

About our hot and incredible great MCs. Well, I don’t want spoilers here, leaving you this pleasure for your reading. I just want to say these two are scorching hot together (HOT with capital letters). But they are also a great couple outside the bedroom. They talk and they are funny.

“Fight or fuck,” Kyle gasped out, eyes closed, sweaty hair sticking to his flushed face. “See. Told you that you could do both at the same time”

Jaime Callahan is a loyal ex-marine, and an honorable and incredibly hot alpha male. In fact, he is in charge of the Metahuman Alpha Team. It couldn’t be another way. He knows what he wants, he is caring and super dirty (sexually speaking).

“He never thought he´d find someone he was willing to risk his career for until Kyle come along. A single night of passion was enough to make Jaime be selfish and reckless and damn the consequences”

And about Kyle? Kyle Brannigan is the shit too! Well, there’s no need of spoilers here either, so I just gonna say he is incredible, he faced his shitty early years becoming a great and loyal guy. He is hot, he likes it hard (oh yeah!), he is strong and also pursues what he wants. He is the perfect match for our Jaime.

“Wonderful, Kyle thought tiredly. Guess I get to cross of buried alive on my Situations I have Been In And Wished I Wasn´t list. Sadly, it was a long list”

Writing a book is a very difficult thing (and a very terrifying process, as well). Writing a good book? A tremendous and enviable accomplishment. But writing a great sci-fi book? To me, it’s something so superb and so unlikely that I don’t have words (again) to describe the gratifying sensation it made me feel.

I have a kind of Sci-Fi radar (it works with fantasy too) that let me know if the book is being good enough to me, and it involves two things:
First: when I’m not reading the book I spend much time day-dreaming about it. Time I should spend doing other things, of course, but a girl has her priorities 😉
Second: When a team fight starts and I feel the same level of hotness I usually feel with the sex scenes… And in this book, when someone is using pyrotechnic power, another guy is building a protector shield with his mind, while another is joking about something… Oh yeah, I was totally feeling it!

Well, I can’t talk here about the same level of hotness because of the sex scenes in this book…they are something else. But I must say (and probably is the only “but” I have for the book) that sometimes that scenes were a little too long…I’m gonna start book two, as soon as I get some sleep. Priorities or not, I still have necessities… I’m not a metahuman, after all.

Thank you, Ralu, for this recommendation and thank you, Wendy for the description you gave me: (I’m quoting here):

“It’s like X-Men going down and dirty” oh hell, girl, it was. 😀

But it was more than that and I am really thankful.imageedit_29_8155881553

~Abouth the Author~

Author, photographer, rare Pacific Northwest Native, Elle grew up in Seattle, WA., with the Cascade Mountain range to the east and Olympics to the west. Less than two hours northwest lie the majestic San Juan Islands. To the northeast is the Methow Valley and the scrub deserts of Eastern Washington. Geography ripe with material.

A graduate of Western Washington University, Elle has a BS in biology which taught her to be tenacious. The closest she has come to biology since then is having two kids. Like an experiment or something. She’s lived in four states (none of which were gaseous), London England, and Hong Kong; always knows what time it is, and has no problem finding parking even in the most difficult places. Cannot balance a checking account.

Elle’s series Accidental Roots, mostly set in the Skagit Valley of Western Washington, will make its debut spring of 2017. Storm Season is tender, sometimes irreverent, full of nosy neighbors and help when the hero didn’t think he needed it. Writing has always been a passion but not something she was able to take seriously until recently. Now her head is full of ideas and not enough time in each day.

A desperate father. A lonely ranger. Unexpected love that can’t be denied.

Jason Kellerman’s life revolves around his eight-year-old daughter. Teenage curiosity with his best friend led to Maggie’s birth, her mother tragically dying soon after. Insistent on raising his daughter himself, he was disowned by his wealthy family and has worked tirelessly to support Maggie—even bringing her west on a dream vacation. Only twenty-five, Jason hasn’t had time to even think about romance. So the last thing he expects is to question his sexuality after meeting an undeniably attractive park ranger. Ben Hettler’s stuck. He loves working in the wild under Montana’s big sky, but at forty-one, his love life is non-existent, his ex-boyfriend just married and adopted, and Ben’s own dream of fatherhood feels impossibly out of reach. He’s attracted to Jason, but what’s the point? Besides the age difference and skittish Jason’s lack of experience, they live thousands of miles apart. Ben wants more than a meaningless fling. Then a hunted criminal takes Maggie hostage, throwing Jason and Ben together in a desperate and dangerous search through endless miles of mountain forest. If they rescue Maggie against all odds, can they build a new family together and find a place to call home?

Road to the Sun is a May-December gay romance from Keira Andrews featuring adventure, angst, coming out, sexual discovery, and of course a happy ending.

~Abouth the Author~

After writing for years yet never really finding the right inspiration, Keira discovered her voice in gay romance, which has become a passion. She writes contemporary, historical, fantasy, and paranormal fiction and — although she loves delicious angst along the way — Keira firmly believes in happy endings. For as Oscar Wilde once said:
“The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily. That is what fiction means.”

~Blurb~

As a provocative series of paranormal temptation begins, a vampire king seduces the supernaturally gifted man hunting him. But when the stakes are literally life or death, their struggle for control is no game.

Benjamin Fuller is a hunter, born and bred. Blinded as a child by the vampire who slaughtered his family, he’s blessed with a second sight that allows him to catch and kill his quarry. What his gift can’t help him see coming is his fierce, almost carnal attraction to the mystery man who claims to be a fellow hunter and whose touch triggers both lust and revulsion. When he gains the upper hand, Benjamin vows to bring his enemy to his knees.

After many years spent in exile, the only one who can help restore Tzadkiel Dragoumanos to his rightful place as War King is a blind hunter with golden curls, a lithe dancer’s physique, and distinctive facial scars—scars Tzadkiel gave him two decades ago. The mere scent of Benjamin Fuller provokes an unwelcome rush of insatiable desire. Yet to win an all-out supernatural war, Tzadkiel must resist the ravenous hunger to possess his prey—for now.

This is a great enemies-to-lovers story!

This is a stunning and original Hunters vs. Vampires book. This is an M/M romance between a vampire who wants to kill a hunter, and a skilled hunter bred to execute the vampire race. The atmosphere Tibby Armstrong has created is completely absorbing and with a Dark-ish tone involving every page, every street of Boston, that had me fascinated since the very first page.

The world building is extremely attractive and the writing is remarkable.

To build a great and solid world in this genre is not easy. I have read tons of paranormal books. Some of them are good but, sadly, the vast majority not so much because of its lack of originality. And then,  “Surrender the Dark” comes, mixing Greek mythology, with a different concept of vampires and hunters and dragging me in, almost magically, restating my love for a genre that I do not love easily.

And what makes Armstrong’s Universe original and appealing is a mixture of great things: the plot is consistent. The characters are developed, deep and very likable. The dialogues sharp, and to the point. The whole idea of “Surrender the Dark” is terrific, as well as the many little things that put the story together.

I very much identified with the humor in this book.

It is sarcastic and sour, and the author achieves a superb mixture between a dark atmosphere, with evil creatures lurking in the night, and very amusing interactions between the characters. Part of my high rating is because I find the humor in this book magnificent.

I loved Benjamin from the first page. I loved that boy playing in his uncle’s yard. And I love the man he becomes. I really liked the way that boy grew up assuming wrong beliefs as unquestionable truths, and how he learned life is not always what it seems (or what your parents told you).

But, probably, I love Tzadkiel even more than Benjamin, and not only because I think the character is sexy as hell. No, there is more. I like the way he talks and the loyalty to his family, to his Mora. He is honorable. He is smart. He is powerful, and his power is extremely hot. He is my War King. The undeniable winner for me.

Something I really enjoyed in this unique story is the fact that they don’t go from enemies to lovers all at once.

It is more complicated and entertaining than just that. The couple from being mortals nemesis to reluctant allies, and in the middle of that process, they become lovers. But the hate and the need for vengeance is still there, so the charm and the curiosity about what is going to happen is on the scene until the end.

While I was reading Surrender the Dark, I was thinking that even if our MC’s are both male (sexy and hot long-haired male) that  fell in love with each other (and you with them) the nuanced plot was more centered in the superb supernatural world the author was giving us, than in the love story itself. Benjamin and Tzadkiel are our guides in this ride, and certainly, their relationship is the final reason for the book, but you could say their romance is not the absolute center here. I didn’t care because I was completely absorbed in Armstrong’s world, but I have to confess I’m a bit dirty and I missed more steam.

This is book one in The Dark series (can be read as standalone). Taste the Dark and Claim the Dark are expected on December 2017 and May 2018.

There is no doubt I will continue reading this series.imageedit_82_7352421876

I have read multiple books written by Keira Andrews, and so far I have loved every one of them. Though this book isn’t my favorite by this author, I did really enjoy it.

Jason is a 25 year old single father, trying to raise his 8 year old daughter as best as he can. Maggie was born, after a curious and awkward stumble with his best friend, when Jason was 17 years old. Maggie’s mother died in a terrible accident when Maggie was only a few months old. Instead of being supportive,  Jason’s parents wanted to take Maggie from him and raise them as their own…

Even going as far as taking him to court.

Jason however, wanted to be Maggie’s father and raise her himself, so he took his daughter and left. It hasn’t been easy, doing everything on his own, trying to make enough money so he could offer his daughter a good life, but he did it. Jason has never had the time or interest to start a relationship with someone. His daughter always comes first and for Jason, this means putting all his own needs aside.

Now, father and daughter are camping in a nature park in Montana and his world is about to be rocked in two different ways. One comes in the form of a sexy park ranger…

The other in the form of criminal on the run.

Despicable-Me-say-what-gif.gif (493×264)

Ben is a 41 year old park ranger, who has recently had his dreams shattered. After spending almost 2 decades with the same man, his boyfriend has left him to marry a movie star and adopt a baby…

Destroying all Ben’s hopes and dreams in the process.

MRW I get my finals back

When working as a tour guide one day, he meets Jason and Maggie. Ben and Maggie immediately have a click, bonding over nature. With Jason though, he feels lust at first sight, even though he isn’t quite sure about Jason’s sexuality. He intends to find out though…real soon. The two of them strike up a tentative friendship and Ben plans to try and take things a bit further…soon.

But all the plans Ben has made in his head, of approaching Jason this way, fall apart, when a criminal on the run kidnaps Maggie while they are hiking. What follows is an emotional search, while Jason does his best not to fall apart.

When Maggie is found and safe in the hospital, Jason has his emotional breakdown, which leads to comfort and much much more. Now this book isn’t filled with steamy scenes and it takes some time for the two of them to come together, but what was there, was very HOT.

“I like it messy. I want to roll you over and fuck you, make it good for you, make you come. Then I want to jerk off on you and see my cum on your skin”.

17800740.gif (400×225)

But where will they go from here? Jason has Maggie to think of first, and Ben has a job he loves halfway across the country.

This was a very nice read and I love stories where there is an age-gap between the MC’s. The angst centers mostly around the kidnapping and Jason’s fear of not being a good father.

It was quite heavy on the insta-love. These men only know each other a week and already feel, as if they are in love and can’t live without each other.

It also has a very satisfying epilog, which will leave a huge smile on your face.imageedit_29_8155881553

When I read the blurb of this book, I got immediately excited. I mean paranormal investigators..ghosts…sounds all kinds of creepy and mysterious.

Eating GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

Which is exactly what I got. Mystery, suspense, and ghosts. What I didn’t get however was a romance story. There is a couple in this book, but that’s not what this book is about. Now it doesn’t say so in the blurb, that it is a romance and I myself am a sucker for mystery and suspense…but still.

I want everyone to be aware of this fact before going in.

Now…I did enjoy this little mysterious story. I would have liked it better with a bit more romance, not gonna lie. But still, it was very enjoyable.

This book skips between the present and the past which tends to annoy me, but in this case, it didn’t. It really added to the mystery.

12 Years ago, a couple of teenagers, including Pierce and Haven, held a seance in a haunted house. The next day, one of them disappeared. Now, 12 years later they are together again (Pierce now being a paranormal investigator), reenacting that night and trying to figure out what exactly happened.

I can’t say too much about the plot, without spoiler the story, so I won’t. I read and have read a lot of different genres in my life. Thrillers and mystery/suspense being one of them. I don’t mind if a book lacks in the romance department. That said, I would have liked this one better I think if there wasn’t any romance/pairing at all.

Now I felt a bit bereft since that part of the story never really developed.

I think readers who enjoy mystery and suspense with a hint of paranormal will definitely like this one.

Readers who are into romance and M/M…maybe not so much.
