~Review~ Guns n’ Boys: Chokehold by K.A. Merikan

Guns n’ Boys: Chokehold (Guns n’ Boys #5)

*****5 Stars*****

Loved it.I think this is my favorite book in the series so far, I can’t get enough of Dom and Seth.
This one sees Dom, Seth, and Mark finally crossing the border into Mexico but as usual, things don’t go smoothly.

Dom finds himself in a situation he hates…..not being in complete control.

As a result, Seth finds himself having to step up.

As they both battle to do what they think is right there are lies and secrets which cause a huge divide between them.
It’s no secret that I find Dom’s jealousy over Seth insanely hot and this book is no exception.
These two are just so deliciously hot together, even when they’re fighting you can feel the sexual tension..(bottle of water scene with Seth….I think I have that on repeat in my head)

Have to mention Mark …

… who they have kind of unofficially adopted…I love that boy.I especially liked his interaction with Dom here….I would love for him to have his own book in the future.

It’s difficult to go into the story in depth without spoilers but for fans of this series, this will definitely not disappointed.

I’ve read tons of M/M books and series but these two and this series are still unquestionably my favorite.

ARC of Guns n’ Boys: Chokehold was generously provided by the authors, in exchange for an honest review.

~Review~ Guns n’ Boys: Swamp Blood by K.A. Merikan

Guns n’ Boys: Swamp Blood (Guns n’ Boys #4)

***** 5 Stars*****

Well, I’ve read these books virtually back to back and I’ve been a very happy girl. These men are just the best together.Dirty, sexy, sweet and perfect together.

In this book, they are supposed to be dead so have to stay under the radar…
Seth is suffering mentally and physically after the events from the last book.He feels insecure and unattractive after the injuries he sustained and as a result, the physical side of his relationship with Dom is suffering.Dom tries so hard to be patient but just wants the old Seth back.

As usual, with these two, trying to stay out of trouble is impossible.
Dana(so far don’t like her) is still present and being trained by Dom.Something Seth is not happy with as Dom spends so much time with her.
A great new character is introduced as well.
Mark is a 16 year old runaway, has no self-worth, feels totally unloved and whores himself out to men

They first meet Mark when he finds himself in a comprising position gone out of control with a sexy biker, Jed who is a member of the Coffin Nails MC.
Having read the Sex and Mayhem series by these Authors I was so loving their involvement in this book.
I mean what’s hotter than M/M biker action….

The encounter with Jed sees Dom and Seth getting involved in the MC world and things take on a violent turn.

Dom is just as bossy and sexy and dominant and gorgeous and insanely jealous of Seth.
Seth is just adorable and cute and hot and doesn’t think about his actions where Dom is concerned.
This two bicker and fight something fierce but my God, the makeup sessions are so worth it!!

I’ve got a few favorite M/M couples but I think these two are definitely number one.
I just bloody love this series and can’t wait for the next part of their journey!!!!!

~Review~ Guns n’ Boys: Homicidal Instinct by K.A. Merikan

Guns n’ Boys: Homicidal Instinct (Guns n’ Boys #3)

*****5 Stars for my favorite in this series so far******

“You loved the lifestyle you had with the Family, so when you chose me over them… That’s everything I could have wanted.”

I don't imagine Sam with a tattoo, but I like the pose.:

It was probably a good thing that I already wrote most of my review yesterday, even though I had the ending of the book still ahead of me, otherwise it would have ended in utter chaos. I told a friend last night that I needed to go to bed but decided to read one or two more pages. Bad idea, Simone. Bad idea. At least in regards to my sleep. Of course, I was not done with one or two pages. All sleep was forgotten, I could not put it down anymore. I’m dead-ass tired today, but this book is so worth it!!!

With Dom being put out of commission due to his injuries and the amnesia he suffered at the end of the previous book, this time it is Seth’s turn to take responsibility in order to keep them safe. Without any plan, only his determination to protect Dom at any cost, Seth sees himself in the leading role to escape killers left and right, which turns into a road trip to hell until the end of the book. I loved him for his efforts, for his intentness, for how far he would go, despite being in way over his head.

To add insult to injury, he has a hard time adapting to the possibility that Dom might never regain his memory and will not remember anything about their time together, but he tries to repose confidence in their love for each other which is still there and will hopefully prove to be enough in the end.

I am amazed at his sweetness, at his gentle character, at how gullible he still can be, despite everything both men have been through. Sometimes, though, I still wanted to shake him and smack him upside the head for his naivety. Maybe somebody should have told him that parading in front of a TV camera is not the way to go while trying to escape the mafia. He really should know by now what The Family – his family – is capable of and the methods they use to achieve their goal.

I never thought it possible that I could love Dom even more than before. Not able to remember anything from his past and despite his innate predatory personality, he is set on trusting Seth with everything. I really loved this softer side of him…

… but it was also great to see his “old self” with slightly psychotic tendencies, his jealousy, and his killer instinct shine through occasionally. ;-)To see how he fell for Seth all over again was everything.

Seth grounded him, helped him find his place on Earth when everything else turned into a blur.

The sex scenes were once again burning-the-sheets hot, but after reading more than three books in a row now from these authors, I did not expect anything less. 😉 To my mind, it was each and every tender moment, though, what made them just perfect for each other.

“Don’t force yourself to anything, Dom.” Seth nudged him with his nose. “If it’s meant to be, everything will come back to you.” Domenico shook his head. “But I want to know. Remember what I felt when I first saw you. Everything is so confusing now, but I do know that you are incredibly close to me. There’s this… pull in my chest when I look at you.”

The story itself read like the calm before the storm. Although it was humorous at times, especially due to Dom’s quirks cropping out during their trip, I felt an underlying tension the whole time, even when it was just the two of them together. I expected something to happen at every turn what kept me constantly on the edge of my seat.

And then I came to the end and… God, it almost wrecked me. Full of adrenaline, I could not sit still anymore and my blood pressure was sky high. Well, good luck with going to sleep after such a drama…

To be honest, I thought about taking a break from this series, to read something fluffy in between, because – let’s face it – this story is sometimes so dark and brutal that it is bordering on the stuff that nightmares are made of, but there is no way for me to stop now.

~Review~ Blackwood by Celia Aaron

Blackwood by Celia Aaron

****4 Stars****

Imagini pentru 4 stars

Elise aka Red is an archaeology student.  But with the excuse to dig for her Ph.D., she is trying to find her missing father. She has one lead, and that lead is around the woods of the Blackwood estate.

I just love Nina Dobrev:

Garrett Blackwood is the owner of Blackwood Estate. A former history professor with a very bad reputation. He doesn’t want anyone digging on his property. He likes and wants to be left alone and makes sure Elise knows that. But Elise doesn’t let herself intimidated by Garrett and she’s ready to do ANYTHING to find her father, even forging Garrett’s signature on the documents she needs to get the funding for the digging on his property.

“I will hurt you, Red. Worse than you’ve ever been hurt in your life. I will fuck you like an animal.”

“He’s a teddy bear, I promise.”  Unless you run from him.

Black - Catch me..If you can:    KING C. More:

“I’ll enjoy your pain. I’ll use you, beat you, and love every tear you shed. I’ll get off on your fear. When you scream in terror, I’ll get harder.”

Everyone tries to scare Elise. People warn her to stay as far away as possible from that forest because bad and scary things happen there. Some say the Blackwood forest is haunted, and at the night shouts are heard. But nobody knows why or what are those screams.  And she will feel those warnings on her own skin.

“If you said ‘please’, I’d fuck you so hard that you wouldn’t be able to sit down, walk, or breathe for days without thinking of my cock inside you.”

It was nothing like I expected. It was an erotic and suspenseful story, with so much mystery and intrigue. I loved Garrett’s dark side, and I also loved his sweet side. I wished he was more time dark and rough. I loved how the story and the mystery evolved. It kept me guessing.

“This.” He glanced at my throat. “Is just a sample, Red. My appetites would disgust you. Fuck” He ran a hand through his hair. “Sometimes they disgust me, but I can’t escape them.”

It was dark, raw, twisted and full of suspense and action!

~Review~ Guns n’ Boys: Homicidal Instinct by K.A. Merikan

Guns n’ Boys: Homicidal Instinct (Guns n’ Boys #3)

***** 5 Stars for my gorgeous boys, Dom and Seth *****

This book sees Dom and Seth on the run from the Mafia.Dom is suffering after the traumatic events of the last book and has Amnesia. He thinks Seth is his half brother but still finds himself lusting after him and he’s got a total fascination with Seth’s tight ass fans self,( so have I !!)
All he can do is trust Seth and believe everything he tells him.

Seth is struggling as he has to take the role of protector. He is tortured by the fact Dom cannot remember how close they were.

Dom is my fantasy man!!
Sexy, bossy, controlling and, holy hell..he’s got the long hair, that’s always going to do it for me!!
Have to say in this one I found myself loving Seth more and more. He’s a big man but so damn cute with all the fussing and cooking ( I’d have this man in my kitchen any day)

The action takes a raw and gritty turn in the last third but I wouldn’t expect anything less from these brilliant Authors.Dom and Seth together are raw and dirty but so damn sweet as well and the sex scenes definitely got me going.

I am just loving these boys so much and for fans of M/M books on the darker side, I cannot recommend highly enough!!!

~Review~ Bitter Legacy by Dal Maclean

Bitter Legacy by Dal Maclean

*****5 Stars*****

What a fabulous journey! And to think that I almost skipped it!

Cutting to the chase:
Bitter Legacy was an overdose of feelings. Euphoric feelings with WTF moments, hysterical feelings, anxious feelings, rage feelings with WTF moments, compassion feelings, tenderness feelings, sadness feelings, thrilling feelings, did I mention the WTF moments?? yes? ok but I want to do it again because of What.The.Actual.Fuck!?

I was utterly drawn to Jamie, overwhelmingly connected. I felt him with my heart.

The other MC – Ben – left me growling like a rabid dog.

Despite the completely opposite reactions, they hit me with the same extent of passion. With Jamie, my passion went to the extent of wanting to take my heart out and handing it over to him.

Whereas with Ben, the passion drove me to the extent of hysteria rages.

It hurt me so much when Jamie tried to keep up with Ben’s wicked lifestyle.

Not him, though. He didn’t play it well and that’s the reason it was so painful to watch that. There was no dull moments plot wise. In fact, It was all too much, but in a very good way. The result was powerful, intense and overwhelming.

The secondary characters were meticulously crafted and I want to mention how much I liked them all. Kudos to Ingham as we rarely have a chance to see a leading female boss in a predominantly male world.

megaphone-emoticon####From now on this review contain spoilers####

Now, let me show you my ugly side. I basically went until the end of the story rooting for the beautiful moment where I would finally see Ben crawling and begging for a chance with Jamie. But my pitiful feelings have changed of course; at the very end when it all came to light.  I don’t believe you can delete memories of your first 9 years of life, especially when what you have lived through was so out of sorts. I am not talking about parental neglect here. I am talking about a batshit crazy hold-on-your-bits-I-am-going-to-cut-your-balls-out mother.
Can we forget this kind of abuse with a brand new set of lovely parents? Fuck, no! These memories will get tattooed on your skin, mind, and soul.  Somehow it will shape you for better or worst. For this reason, I don’t believe Ben being the result of it, volatile and promiscuous the way he was, would have changed in a blink.

If I recommend it?

That being said, I love a book that can make me feel the way Bitter Legacy did, tying me in knots like a pretzel, toying with my emotions effortlessly. Therefore, despite my criticism about wishing a bit more time to assimilate Ben’s transformation, in the end, I will give it 5 Stars. It’s a remarkable story. Its impact was too big to get less than that. It will stay with me for a while.
